I stayed for a week in November. The staff is wonderfully helpful and the hotel itself is lovely--with many of the decorations for sale as the "Gallery" part of the name. It is in the center of everything facing the Mercato Nuovo that has the fountain of the Porcellino (little boar) as in the first part of the name. The... More

This hotel is right in the heart of the city. It is literally a 5 minute walk to the center market, the bridge, Il Duomo. Seriously, you can't beat it. The room I had was lovely and spotless. It had a huge shuttered double door right over the small market where Il Porcellino is. This is both good and bad.... More

First, the good part: This is a gorgeous place, very beautiful design and decor. Th staff is nice and welcoming. And it's walking distance to all the main attractions in Florence. But.... it is located right beside the Piazza del Mercato, so vendors and their carts are making noise around 6:30 AM. In the weekend, the Piazza is taken over by... More

We stayed at Porcellino Gallery for two nights while traveling around Italy and this lovely bed and breakfast was our favorite place! You are in the heart of Florence - two seconds away from the Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi Gallery, etc. There are some complaints about the noise, however, if you shut the shutters, you cannot hear anything in the square... It's intimate ! There are only 5 rooms, with more coming, but it is a special place in the heart of Florence. The owner has a style and a flair for fashion excellence that she applied to this gem. The rooms are tastefully decorated in art deco and the service you receive from Christopher and Sara is exceptional. You are... More

You stay in the absolute heart of old Florence. The Duomo, the Uffizi, the Ponte Vecchio is all just a very short walk away. The Mercato Nuovo is right in front of the hotel with all the people rubbing the bronze piggy's throughout the day. The hotel is itself a complete floor of an old Palazzo and could not be... More

I stayed for one night, and loved the hospitality of the staff, the comfortable bed and the amenities provided (they smelt amazing!). The location is very central and this did mean it was a little noisy, but there were little packets of ear plugs in the dresser in case you needed them, and I think the convenience definitely outweighed the... Neighbourhood Profile
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries.
