We booked this accommodation at the suggestion of our friends who had stayed a year ago. Since that time it's changed ownership. I believe the previous owner must have been the highlight. Chatting excitedly over breakfast with tips for things to see and places to eat. It functions now as more of an apartment. A voucher for breakfast at the... More

Hi, Thank you for the feedback! Yes, we agree that at the moment the place works more as an apartment rent rather than B&B but we started not a long time ago and some changes are still in progress. There are some renovation works planned for the house and rooms first, so in the near future we also hope to... More

What a lovely place to stay right in the heart of Florence. I have travelled to Florence many times & stayed in some lovely hotels in this city (xpensive too). Martindago B&B is not the Ritz, nor does it pretend to be. It is a good honest B&B run by a few very warm & friendly people!! Myself & 2... More

We stayed there for a week with a baby and this place is worth to mention. The very first thing that was brought to my attention is huge middle-age like doors which takes you to the inner garden at the first floor. Than you have to take the elevator which inevitably reminds Fellini movies from 80s, 90s. Interior of apartments... More

It is really strange to find a negative comment below, as this place is fantastic! Especially now, with new owners that are very friendly, responsible and fluent in so many languages! Our stay here was spectacular, everything seems new, clean and the owners were always helpful by showing off the most amazing places to visit. We recommend this place for... More

Our stay at Martindago was our highlight of Florence. Forget about the Museums, let Gabriele send you to local sights and restaurants. Remember you're in his home so don't expect the Ritz, but you will find the experience rewarding while you get a chance to see a flat behind those tall double doors.. Martin treats you like you are his... More

We stayed for three nights for our visit to Firenze. The B&B is located in a 400 year old apartment with modern conveniences. Our room was spacious enough and had a balcony overlooking the interior courtyard. The location is great, central- only a few blocks from the Ufizzi Gallery. We had our own bathroom although there were rooms thatb shared... More

We loved our stay at Gabriele's B & B in the heart of Florence. Our host was delightful and gracious. A true conniosseur of Florence and its treasures. The B & B itself is like an annex to the Uffizi Museum and we felt as we were royalty staying in the midst of classic Florence. Gabriele guided us with precision... More

Gabriele is the consumated host. Second to none. Makes you feel at home. Great location, good rooms, excellent atmosphere, and at the end of your day, if you are lucky, you can ear someone sing in the nearby flats. Recommended by Maria & Francisco.

My mother and I had a fantastic stay in Florence thanks to Gabriele, he is a wonderful soul and host. We enjoyed breakfast conversations with him each morning - best breakfasts we had in Italy! Rooms are comfortable and the washroom is clean.
