I stayed with my girlfriend during our road trip to Tuscany. The hotel is placed at the center of Florence - 2 min walk from the train station. The room was very clean and renovated at a very affordable price. The receptionists were very friendly as well in assisting and giving us tips and directions. The breakfast was decent as...

So many positive things to say about this hotel! The staff is incredibly friendly, nice, and helpful! The breakfast that was included was great fuel to start off our morning. The room was spacious and very cozy. They also provided a cot for our baby which was extremely helpful! The best thing, the location! It's literally within walking distance to...

This centrally-located property is quick access from the train station and major sites, making exploring Florence a breeze. Also, the staff is attentive, informative, and kind. I This is a property that we will certainly return to should we visit Italy once again.

Our room was cosy. We liked it. We also liked the staff. Everybody was kind and helpful. The breakfast was delicious! The hotel is only 3 minutes walking from the train station. One thing that one might find annoying is the lack of elevator. However, we didn't care since we are only 25! Thank you for the nice experience !!!

Perfect location close to the train station and within walking distance of the duomo. Actually we walked everywhere. No elevator as it is an old building but that was fine for us. The room was big, clean, AC and the bathroom was new. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful. You can leave your luggage there...

We had a room on the third floor. Read some other reviews that said the rooms were old. Our room was great. Had been recently renovated and had a beautiful bathroom. Room cleaned daily. There is no elevator as its in an old European building but that didn't bother us. Location is perfect 2 minute walk to the train station...

Spent 3 nights in this hotel with a superb location, a few meters from the main train station Santa Maria Novella and a short walk away from Il Duomo. Everything is within walking distance. Rooms are very spacious, and although they do not have modern decor they are air-conditioned and fit the purpose. Bathrooms are modern and spotlessly clean -...

Reception is tiny and there are no elevators otherwise everything else is perfect with the hotel. We had two rooms. My sister and I stayed on the second floor and we were delighted with everything. The only minor thing was that the window of the shower was visible in the bedroom so, we had to turn around while the other...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.

“We had room 101 - this, together with room 102, have windows to the Panzani street which is very noisy. They are also on the same floor with the hotel restaurant/bar (basically, this is in the lobby of the first floor) - another source of noise. Perhaps a higher floor would be more suitable.”
