During our week's stay, the hosts offered us a memorable stay and went out of their way to accommodate us in every way possible. The breakfast is not the standard continental one found in similar hotels. Here, breakfast includes different types of teas and coffees, freshly cut parma ham and salami, hot pies, pizza, fresh fruit salad, a range of...

Minutes from the Florence train station. Boutique hotel on third floor of a classic building. Old fashioned cage elevator. Nice large clean room. High ceilings. Comfortable bed. Very good continental ++ breakfast. Lovely breakfast room. Good English spoken.

First impression (from the street) was not all that great. Double doors each with a sign for a different hotel. When you open the doors you first encounter a very tiny 'cage-type' elevator. However, once you make the trip upstairs (actually the elevator is cool) it all becomes better. Not sure what the building was before but now it's a...

The hotel is situated on the 3rd floor or piano as the Italians say. An antique caged elevator takes you to the hotel. Only room for 2 average size adults and 2 medium rolling suitcases on it but an unusual experience nonetheless. However, it may become tedious for a longer stay. It is a family run business. English understood by...

This hotel is ideally situated for access to the station and the rest of Florence. It's only 2 stars and situated on the third floor of a building with a very old cage style lift but is a great place to stay. Friendly and family run with a warm welcome. Our room was a good size and spotlessly clean, as...

The location of this 2* hotel is exactly what we were looking for. So close to the train station, the historical center and the Piazza del Duomo too..!!! The breakfast was unexpectedly wonderful (because of the small balcony with the two tables that offers you a great view and fresh air during your breakfast) and tasty, with variety of sweet...

I got lost 5 times in Florence. The cities in Italy tend to have tiny little streets, and I couldnt tell any of them apart, except seeing different retail stores and museums to use as markets ( look for the Duomo). This is a good hotel, not the best we stayed at, but for the price in the middle of...

Although we did not have a good first impression, with the hotel lobby being on the 4th floor after taking a lift from a dark doorway at street level, but once in the hotel, we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff and a well decorated lobby. Apart from wishing for a better view (our window looked into a kind...

Small family-owned hotel very near to Santa Maria Novella railwaystation. The breakfast was really good: fresh cappuccino, croissants, omelette, cheese, cakes, fruit salad, even pizza slices! We got 4-people's room for two - it was really spacious with an excellent bathroom. All the staff don't speak english but they were very helpful and kindly.

When I first arrived at Hotel Joli in Florence I was disappointed. I had stayed at a modern, superb apartment in Rome, and it was a slap back to reality to enter the old building with the shaky elevator. The building houses 2 different hotels, and Hotel Joli is a few rooms on the third (and fourth?) floor. Our room...
