A wonderful boutique hotel very close to the Academie, but within walking distance to every major site in Florence. There is a cab stand about a block away if you're going to the airport or train station. The view from the breakfast area is stunning so be sure to go up to the top floor outside areas for beautiful views...

At first glance I thought we were in the wrong place. The hotel does feel like you're entering a private residence. The hotel begins on the first floor of the building, with a small elevator which on one or two occasions wasn't working. The hotel provides a continental breakfast which was alright, but what makes the hotel great is the...

Thank you for commenting! We are actually on the second floor. Hotels not on the ground floor are pretty usual in Florence, as well in others ancient cities. It is also usual find small elevators, this is because buildings are generally very old in the city centre, like ours, a building of the middle of XIX century, when elevators where...

Cant fault this hotel. Lovely people great breakfast. One night some young girls came back drunk but were told to be quiet. I approve of this as there are other guests in the hotel. . I would advisor anyone to come here as its in the middle of most of the sites to be seen in florence. Sat upstairs on...

My family and I stayed at this hotel in July 2015. The hotel was a great choice for the prince. It was about a 10 - 15 minute walk to the city centre and located in a safe neighbourhood. The breakfast was very good and the view from the dining room was excellent - typical Florence view with the red...

This hotel provides very nice and clean accommodation! Breakfast up to a very good standard! It offers amazing views of The Duomo on a little terrace, so it was our check up point every morning! It was also close enough to the main train station and the city centre.

This is a great little hotel that offers fantastic value with breakfast included. What's more the breakfast lounge is situated on the fourth floor overlooking the city. The rooms are clean and tidy with all the usual features there is also a roof terrace with great views. This is well worth staying at and centrally located to all attractions.

My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights and were fine with the accommodation. In terms of location it is very close to the centre of Florence but so are most hotels! (It's hard not to be close). The front staff were very nice and helpful and the breakfast in the morning was quite pleasant. In general the rooms...

Ladies staff from the morning to the afternoon were nice and helpful. Housekeeper changed towels everyday. 오전, 오후 중으로 있었던 여성 스탭분들은 비교적 친절하고 도움을 주려 했습니다. 타월은 매일 갈아주었습니다. I only stayed here for one night. I wasn't expecting anything great, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The photos really don't do this place justice, it's really more charming in person. It's about a 20-30 minute walk from Firenze S.M.N., depending on the load you're carrying and how fast you walk. It's very easy to get...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
