Hotel Europa was a delight. The owner and staff were extremely warm and helpful. Breakfast is substantial, and there was free access to the internet in the hotel lobby. And indeed, we had a "room with a view" of the Duomo. The hotel is very centrally located, and our room, which looked out on the courtyard was very quiet. While...

We stayed at Hotel Europa for 8 days during our recent trip to Florence (Oct 2005) and it turned out to be an excellent choice of accomodation for us. The hotel is famed for its beautiful Florentine styled suites and we were offered an amazing suite at an even more amazing price! Each suite is individually named with it's own...

We recently spent nearly a week in Florence, Italy, and stayed at the Hotel Europa. We were very happy with the location (two blocks from the Duomo), and the service was excellent. Gassim, Miriam, and David were more than willing to answer any questions we had, and Miriam went out of her way to arrange for a driver to take...

Not expecting something this great in a hotel is always a pleasure when you arrive and are greeted by lovely staff who take you to a fantastic room overlooking the main street Yes the windows are double glazed so there is no noise. The staff were fantastic and the location is the best. Make sure you ask for an upgrade...

we stayed at the hotel europa in september 2005. we found the hospitality amazing. the father is quite a character. they went beyond our expectations in every way. my advice is to pay extra for the suites as they have 15 foot ceilings and are much much bigger than the normal rooms. also contact the hotel directly for the best...

We loved our stay at Hotel Europa. Our hosts Gassim & Miriam were very friendly, extremely helpful & respectful at all times. We enjoyed our beautiful large suite (bigger than average!), lovely clean bathroom & very nice view. Good air-con - large comfy beds. Great location just near the famous Dome Cathedral & not far from the train station. The...

Lovely, hospitable, comfortable with all the amenities that an American tourist would dream of. In the heart of Florence, on Via Cavour, and about two blocks from the famous Cathedral popularly called the "Duomo", and the bell tower of Giotto. Some of the rooms have great views of the dome and the belltower. It is a well furnished hotel, with...

My wife and I spent 5days in Florence where was the last city of our trip in Italy, and stay in Hotel Europe was very pleasant and memorable. Above all, the host Gassim was very friendly and treated us like family. Every morning in breakfast room he smiled and greeted us with words “ohayou-gozaimasu”(it means good morning in Japanese). And...

We had a wonderful time staying at the Hotel Europa in Florence. The location is fabulous. It is very near all the major sites. The rooms were spotlessly clean. The service was excellent. Best of all, the owners and staff made us feel like a member of their family. This is a wonderful value for your money. Stay there, you...

Hotel Europa is quaint, centrally located near the Duomo and Santa Maria Novella train station and their staff is very accommodating. Both Gassim and his daughter, Miriam, went out of their way to make us feel at home during our (too brief) stay. I highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for value and wants to be in the...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
