The Europa certainly lived up to all our good expectations (having seen the reviews on this site). It's close to everything; clean and quiet; and best of all the staff are the friendliest in Florence. We asked them for advice on which restaurants to go to, and each time the advice given was flawless - it really made our stay...

Our family of 4 with 2 adult-sized teenagers stayed here for 4 nights. We were initially given a room on the second floor, but were upgraded to a larger room on the first floor when we found that the first room was definitely too small. Agree with all the previous comments about the staff (they even charged our kids' iPods...

Stayed in 2 suites with my in-laws for four nights and had a wonderful restful stay. From the first day we were treated very well. Robert thank-you for your help getting everyone settled. The rooms were spacious and quite and charming. The locations is probably the best in Florence with lots of places to grab a quick bite right around...

Hotel Europa is a two star hotel, but don't let that deter you. I stayed on the suite floor, that has virturally silent rooms (you can only hear birds in the morning), and the whole room is decorated in the same hues, including the hand-painted closet, headboard of the bed, and desk. The room itself was quite spacious as was...

** are you going on your first european holiday and hear that their hotels are TINY and expensive ?... well, the Europa is for you **. Being a 2 star hotel,we were not expecting very much. we were just looking for a comfortable place for 3 people. Knowing that european hotel rooms are miniscule unless you mortgage your house, we...

Great hotel. People who own/run place are incredably nice and accomodating. Rooms are roomy by European standards, though a bit sparse in terms of furnishing. Breakfast included, Continental style. If you stay here, which I would certainly recommend, take a taxi to it the first time, or you'll spend a bit of time looking for it, because it encompasses a...

We chose this place to stay in Florence because of it's excellent location and were pleasantly surprised at everything it offered. Family run, the staff is extremely helpful and will go out of their way to help you with anything you wish to do in Florence, directions, suggestions, and any other concerns. The rooms were lovely and you also receive...

Based on the reviews, I was expecting a little more upgraded accommodations than what we got. I guess, after all the hotel is a two star and we opted for a regular room, not a suite. The room was small, and the bathroom tiny. There was really no room to move in the bathroom and the shower was so small...

Management response:

We thank these clients for their comment. First of all we would like to point out that the clients reserved a standard room for 70,00 Euros a day which by today's exchange rate is 84.91 USD and therefore cannot expect an upgraded room, which are naturally our suite rooms. The difference between suites and standard rooms is that our suites...

I picked this hotel based on previous reviews and was not disappointed (once I got past the bldg entrance). As posted in previous reviews the building entrance where the hotel is located may initially throw you off but the rooms are very nice. The hotel is located on the 2nd & 3rd floors of a larger building but you have...

We really enjoyed our stay at this good value hotel, we stayed up stairs in the 'rooms' section. Our room looked as if it had once been part of a grand house with a fresco still visable on the ceiling. the bathroom was a little small, but for the price we paid, the location was stunning! Best of all was...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
