We stayed at Hotel Davanzati for 4 nights in January and had a great experience there. From before we arrived, Tommaso and Fabrizio promptly exchanged e-mails with me to make arrangements for our stay. They booked our museum reservations and also recommended many sites and restaurants during our visit. They, and all of the staff, are very friendly and helpful....

We stayed at the Davanzati right after New Year's Day. Everything about our stay was exceptional. The room was comfortable with an very large bathroom, including a large stall shower and heating towel racks. The laptop in the room proved to be a great bonus. (We had had some problems en route and needed to contact our credit card companies,...

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Really good hotel in a great location – within walking distance of all major sights. Staff very friendly. We had a junior suite on the first floor. The room was great although the layout was a little unusual ! Although aware that there may be normal ‘city noise’ we were not troubled by any traffic...

We chose Davanzati based on the great reviews and had the most enjoyable stay(13 Dec-16 Dec) among all the other hotels. Fabrizio and his family provide excellent service. The tours they booked for us were very good. So were the restaurant recommendations although we did ask for 1 or 2 from the recommendations we read. They were very helpful with...

My husband and I spent three days in Florence in September. having driven from Venice it was delightful to find we could park the car and be so conviently located to the major sites. Fabrizio kindly booked our reservations for the Academia and Uffizzi ahead of time, allowing us to arrive and have little time waiting in line. This was amazing...

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Hotel Davanzati. From the moment Tomasso greeted us at the door till our farewell from his father Fabrizio, we loved the place. The location was great, but the added extras were terrific: laptop computer in our room, wi-fi, playstation, DVD player with good movies to borrow, happy hour with Proseco and...

The Hotel Davanzati had a wonderful staff who was more than willing to help us with everything from restaurant recommendations to securing tickets to museums, etc. The hotel was convieniently located and within walking distance to the majority of attractions. The room we stayed in was small (I believe we stayed in one of their smallest rooms), but it was...

My fiance and I stayed in Florence for a couple of days in January and got a great rate at the Davanzati due to the season. From the moment we got there, Tommaso and Fabrizio made sure that we had everything we needed and that we felt comfortable and cared for. The hotel pays special attention to important details that...

Fabrizio, Tomasso, Sophia and the rest of the staff were fabulous. The hotel was quite comfortable, clean and the family who runs the hotel made us feel like part of the family. They even invited the hotel guests for Christmas Dinner which made us feel like we didn't really miss anything at home! The staff bends over backwards to help...

Clean, comfortable and close to the main sites, with friendly, helpful staff. We selected a superior double and had heaps of room (a third bed would have fitted easily). We had none of the problems of other reviewers. What made this hotel extra special was the little things: for example, if you have them book a restaurant for you, they...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
