Our room was fine although a bit noisy overlooking a service area where someone seemed to be throwing bottles into a recycling bin every night very late. Troubled by mossies. Breakfast was very poor, we have no expectation greater than a decent coffee and a pastry of some sort, given this is Italy the coffee was dreadful and dispensed from...

We stayed at this hotel in September for 5 days and it was the perfect place to stay to experience Florence! The decor was uniquely artistic. The staff was exceptionally pleasant and the location was perfect especially if you are arriving by train with lots of luggage. Our room was a double room with 12 foot ceilings, a desk with...

My husabnd and I stayed at this hotel fro 3 nights in June. It was ok, but nothing to brag about. First of all, don't stay here if you have a car! Book somewhere with parking. The location would have been great if we were coming by train though. But, there is no parking, the staff did not understand/speak enough...

Our family of four stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in early June 2007 (booked direct with hotel). We were quite satisfied with our stay. The room was large, the beds were comfortable, and it was clean. Sheets, & towels provided. The A/C worked well. The breakfast room is very charming with a pretty view outside, and the buffet...

My daughter and I just returned from two weeks in Italy. After staying in three and four star hotels, which are nice but devoid of personality, we were completely chamed by the Hotel Desiree in Florence. The room was large, homey, spotless and included a balcony. Yes, you could hear the slight clatter of breakfast being prepared down the hall...

The hotel was reasonably priced, very clean and the room spacious and initially impressive. However, the rooms at the front of the hotel on the busy street are incredibly noisy even with ear plugs. The noise of buses, very heavy goods vehicles and dustcarts truly is intolerable. They run throughout the night as the front of the hotel faces the...

I stayed at the Hotel Desiree in November 2002 and was very pleased. In the off season, it is not just a good deal, but a great deal--in 2005, 65 euros for a double. The hotel is very close to the train station, but unlike some cities, this seemed to me a good thing in Florence--convenient, and the neighborhood didn't...

The location is great, it's just around the corner of the railway station. Less than 5 min walk. It is on 3rd floor of a very old building which has a very traditional elevator. It looks like being renovated recently since everything is quite clean. I booked via venere & the hotel is just looked like the photos on the...

The staff were very helpful, I needed to see a Dr and the receptionist made the appointment for me and ensured I knew where the surgery was. Our room was a good size, but we did manage to flood the bathroom everytime we had a shower, the shower cubicle was damaged. Unfortunately, our room overlooked the road, it was very...
