My mother-in-law decided late in the game to come on the trip with us so we weren't able to get her in where we had booked. This was nearby and reasonably priced so we booked it for her. Pros- *Very friendly couple that own this B&B, very accommodating. *Price was reasonable compared to other options locally available when we were...

A small B&B next to the Duomo. Very friendly staff. Small rooms, and yes, an interesting shower arrangement. I am used to staying at big hotels, this one was a great option. All in all I was very pleased with my stay and would stay again!

Novecento's location is hard to beat! One city block from the Duomo and an easy walk to the train station. One of my favorite features was the rooftop terrace. We had the uppermost room, which had a newly finished bathroom. We were there in June with outside temperatures in the mid 20s and the desk fan, along with the large...

When I was looking for somewhere to stay in Florence I wanted something affordable but cute and comfortable, a little corner of the city to call my own for a week. This B&B was exactly what I needed, cozy and quiet and feeling more like a small apartment in the city than just another hotel room. If you're looking for...

This is a B&B, not a hotel. It is located in a building that was probably built over 500 years ago. So...You have steps, and you are living in someone's home. But let me tell you, the steps are worth it! My room was nice sized, and it had a large shower area. As for your hosts, what a friendly...

Hard to say something nice about our experience at this joke of a B+B other than it is located close to the Duomo. We were greeted by the 'pazzo' owner Franco immediately notifying us that if we threw anything other than paper down the toilet, and there was a clog we would be charged E460. Franco for more effect tore...

Loved this little B&B, right in the heart of Florence with a view of the Duomo. Franco and Sawako were the perfect hosts, even giving us wine and cheese when we arrived late at night and too tired to go out. They also helped with advice on the area and places to eat out. The room was gorgeous with a...

We had a great stay at B&B Novecento in August 2014. It was just a short 5-minute walk from the train station and only about 100 meters from the Duomo, so for us it was a perfect location at a great price. Franco was very helpful as we checked in, sharing a map of the city, pointing out recommended restaurants...

My families had a wonderful time at Novecento. It is in a very convenient location, within a block from the Duomo. Sitting at the terrace was a wonderful experience. From there, you could see the Duomo which looks spectacular both during day and night. Although the B&B is on the 3rd floor, the hosts, Franco and Sawako, always helped us...

We had a clean, comfortable room at a reasonable price and with a great location. Franco and Sawaki are attentive and helpful hosts. As many of the reviewers noted, it is on the 3rd floor (remember, in Europe the ground floor counts as zero, so most Americans would call it the 4th floor) of an old building with no elevator,...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
