We have stayed in some beautiful hotels over the years but this was absolutely the best ever. The welcome drink in the lounge was much appreciated as we arrived hot and bothered rather than the usual Reception check in procedure. Our cases were whisked away as we relaxed. We booked Room 11 and upon arrival found a bottle of chilled...

This hotel was so beautiful. I stayed with my grandmother and mother and we all throughly enjoyed our stay. We had two separate rooms on the same floor, both of them were wonderful. The food was great, the hotel itself was stunning and the staff were honestly so amazing. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Florence.

Fabulous hotel in a great central location. Easy walking distance to the main attractions. Staff were very friendly and spoke very good English. They could not do enough to help us and the room was amazing. Only minor criticism was there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but there were snacks and drinks available 24/7. We will definitely...

This hotel was definitely worthy of its five stars- attention to every detail from check in to check out- lovely boutique hotel with old world charm. The reception was like a classy library and staff was on point and professional. The room was gorgeous and spacious considering European standards and complimentary fruit was a nice daily touch every day. Would...

The place is lovely and beautifully decorated. The staff is very friendly and helpful will restaurant reservations (be sure to also book advance tickets for museums since the wait to get into the Uffizi and the Accademia will kill you). I have one small complaint: the hotel had an event (usually a cocktail party) every single day which meant that...

Spent three nights here at the start of our Italy vacation and we loved this boutique hotel. You feel at home (or like you stepped into a Restoration Hardware catalogue) only with an amazing staff that takes care of you. Fantastic location - we walked from the train station with our luggage no problem and all the sites are close...

The JK is not a hotel. It's like your home and it just keeps getting better and better. Superb staff, attention to details and always remembering your preferences, it's hard to beat this kind of service. Couple that with an amazing location, fantastic rooms, I stopped looking for hotels since I found the JK. I can not say enough about...

The perfect place to stay for a special time in Florence. The room was very elegant and luxurious. Breakfast is served by friendly, attentive staff in a beautiful room with big comfy chairs. You can order whatever you like. The hotel offers those little extras that make it very special such as courtesy soft drinks in the mini bar or...

Great boutique hotel just five minutes from the Duomo. The staff were all 5 star, incredibly friendly, knowledgable and helpful. They have a small restaurant that backs on to the local square, a great place to sit back and sip on an Aperol before dinner. The rooms were very well appointed.

We stayed here only one night, as we arrived earlier that day from New York. Having been tired from our travels we were so happy with the large bed and linen sheets. The hotel is in a great location. We were greeted with a very warm welcome even though we arrived soaking wet from the rain! Giovanni was very helpful,...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Comfort, sophistication, style and value right in the heart of Florence. J.K Place has carved out an exceptionally pleasant niche for itself, a niche that’s just seconds from the door of the stunning church of Santa Maria Novella. All the major sites are within easy walking distance. The rooms: Just twenty of them, snazzy, characterful, no two are alike, and all with signature soft furnishings in creams, granges and neutrals offset with contrasting piping in an effortlessly chic Anouska meets Ralph love-in. The glass covered courtyard and roof terrace beckon on warmer days whilst winter afternoons are best spent huddled by the fireplace in the J.K Lounge with a thick slice of cake and a steaming hot cioccolata con panna. Add very friendly, discreet service plus probably the city’s best Concierge and you are just asking for a good time! ... more   less
