Just came from our vacation in Italy. Were in Rome than move to Florence. This hotel located near main train station. But area is not very good. Worst hotel I have ever stay. If you do not want to destroy your vacation do not stay in this hotel. Terrible. This hotel located in the building where some doctors offices, some...

When you write a FB like that, the reader immediately understand that you were in a bad mood. This mean that you don't have to traverl around the world. Because travelling is difficult and need a good mood. We're nothing special, nothing luxurious, but we're a good three stars hotel close to the centre. In our area are a lot...

Since we're travelling with a wheelchair, this place turns out to be a wrong choice. Access by wheelchair is impossible. But despite its difficult access, we're greeted by a very friendly staff and also tremendously helpful. He even offered us to carry our wheelchair upstairs. We're very pleased by this kind of service, something that we're rarely seen during our...

It has been a few years since I've stayed in this hotel for 2 or 3 nights. But I always felt I had to show my appreciation. Never to late for a review! As I was caring my luggage from Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station at night, looking for my hotel, I pass trough many hotels. I was walking...

The location of this hotel is close by to main attractions. The city itself can be seen by foot. The hotel was clean and the staff was professional. Breakfast was just okay. No complaints but nothing extraordinary.

We were welcomed by the friendliest staff we've meet. Claudio received us and made us feel right at home. The hotel serves breakfast (the usual italian) and the rooms are ok, a little bit old but everything worked great.

The main advantage of the hotel is location near the railway station Santa Maria Novella, also very approachable and helpful stuff. However, that is only the reason not to say “terrible” about that place. The hotel is close to the train station, but it`s quite difficult to find it behind the locked gate in the ordinary building. Surroundings are seedy...

We received a good service by a very friendly and helpful male receptionist. I suspect that the female receptionist was new to the job. The room was fine. Not large, but fine for my 20 year old son and me. We used the hotel as a base for 6 day holiday exploring Florence. The location is fine. 2-3 min. from...

The hotel itself was neat and tidy inside. The location is quite close to the train station, although it seemed to be not the best neighbourhood late in the evening. It was difficult to find the hotel as it is located off the main street behind a locked gate on the second floor of an ordinary building. We arrived in...

We perfectly remember of you! You rang 8 times and we opened to you immediately, but you wasn't able to enter (just push). Moreover you rang also at the main entrance, and it wasn't necessary. We're a three star hotel on the second floor of a modern building, our pride is our position, in the centre, close to the railway...

Good Hotel for the price. Good breakfast. Clean and comfortable. Good location, next to the Main station. Free Wifi and tv Very approachable staff. Only thing is the hotel is on the second floor of the building, so you have to pay attention not to miss it.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
