The hotel is placed at a very convenient location.Unfortunately,I went for work purposes and stayed only for one night.Adequately sized rooms with all amenities, nice breakfast, though it's not included in the price of the room.Great old-style decoration, giving a touch of living in the past.Good service and helpful owners.I wish I had more time to stay.Last but not least, the room and the...

This was our 4th stay here. The great location and Doreen's wonderful hospitality keep us coming back. Rooms are basic, but comfortable. On our visit last week, there was a heatwave, but the fan in our room was heavy duty, so we were comfortable. The location really is perfect - you can walk everywhere. And Doreen really does bend over...

Hotel Scoti is a simple, family run Hotel in the middle of Florence. While it doesn't offer a concierge service or include breakfast, it does include a fabulous location, friendly staff and a convienient place to stay that's close to the heart of the city. We stayed in a room that was very close to the front entrance (note the...

Doreen is fantastic, the location is superb, the room is spacious and the mosquitos viscious... great view of the bustling street below, right in the middle of the premier shopping district, next to Prada. Lots of road noise and city noise if you're there on the weekend. We brought earplugs so we were prepared for even the late night partiers,...

This is our second stay at Hotel Scoti. Owned by an Italian/Australian Doreen who is so helpful. This is a basic hotel with no frills. Not cheap but then you are in the absolute heart of Florence so surely this counts! No breakfast but then again there are so many places nearby this is not a problem. Doreen will arrange...

We stayed 2 nights during May 2012. Hotel was within easy reach of the train station and located within very easy walking distance of all which was to see in Florence. Doreen was a fantastic host with great advice. Rooms are clean and comfortable with all the basic needs; wonderful character in a charming city.

We stayed at Hotel Scoti for 4 nights in May 2012, and had a pleasant stay. The owner is lovely and very friendly. The hotel location is great! However, our room was very basic and not overly comfy- plus no breakfast, TV or hairdryer in the room. No frills here! Stay was OK but we felt it wasn't great value...

We spent 3 nights in hotel scoti at 125€ per night...for a 15 square meters room, clean but with old bed & furnitures. The room is not romantic neither functionnal. The hotel is located at the second floor of a building where they give parties at the first floor every saturday night...enjoy your sleep !

We spent 2 nights at the Hotel Scoti. Doreen is the perfect inn keeper - lots of good advice as needed, but told you to get out and experience Florence yourself. Wonderful location - we could walk anywhere. I don't think you will find a better spot in Florence - unless you have friendly relatives that will let you stay...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
