Ostello santa Monaca was a good stay in Florence. Across the river from the duomo but we liked the walk into the centre. Clean rooms and good bathroom facilities. Wifi was only decent in the reception area. Helpful staff who recommended the best restaurant of my life in the santa spirito Piazza! Decent kitchen facilities that could get a bit...

The only positives about this place is they had a kitchen available and wifi was also accessible n the rooms. I stayed in the 16bed female room and it was so hot and the fan they provided did almost nothing. Only one outlet near door for everyone to share. Female showers were on another floor on opposite ends of building....

The location was very convenient to the center of Florence, just a few blocks from the famous Ponte Vecchio (gold bridge) and a few more from the Uffizi Gallery; a short bus ride to the Central Train Station. It was clean and cozy*, with a wonderful lounge to hangout in and charge my electronics, also a secure room for luggage...

We are an older couple and normally do not stay in hostels, however, we were meeting our young adult children in Florence for one night and wanted an inexpensive option for six people. Hostel Santa Monaca was the perfect find. It was very clean, had great wi-fi, a washing machine and dryer (which we really needed), and was in an...

Very under-average hostel. Staff were rude and unfriendly and we were expected to make our own beds - this has happened once before during our two months of budget hostel travelling, especially as this hostel is more expensive than many we have stayed in. two of five female showers broken and no soap in toilets. Reccommend showering early morning/late evening...

We stayed in Florence for two nights at Hostel Santa Monaca in a 22 bed mixed dorm. The dorm was better than expected, fairly large and had fans that cooled it down at night. It is a 15 minute walk to the main train station, which was great. The staff were always helpful when we asked them for questions. It's...

We stayed at this hostel for three nights. Firstly, three nights in Florence is much too much. Second, when we first entered the hostel, it looked deceivingly clean. However, when we reached out bedroom, it was no longer clean. The place has a smell. A weird smell. It is extremely stuffy in the bedrooms. My allergies flared up for my...

I stayed here 2 nights, which was fine, but any longer may have been too much. The staff were ok, friendly on arrival, but not too chatty afterwards. The location is very good, though any hostel in the city would be as everything is within walking distance if you have the stamina in your legs. The common /dining area was...

Toilets aren't very clean. Cleanliness in room was alright, but the ceiling fans in the room weren't working(can only turn to speed 1), hence it is terrible to stay there during summer, when temperature in Florence can rise up to 33 degrees.

I stayed a week & loved the location (near santo spirito - delicious restaurants & bars, vintage shops, not so touristy) just across the river. 10 minutes walking to uffizi & ponte vecchio. Goodish kitchen, fridges. Absolutely no plugs in the rooms so you have to sit in the dining room! Can borrow towels. Bathrooms are average & the showers...
