We spent 3 nights at Hotel Bigallo which I booked on Venere for a good price first week end of January. The location of the hotel is perfect, I do not think you can find better than that. Apart from the great location it's a modest hotel nothing great, clean room, no view at all as we were on the...

Stayed only one night, got a room with dome view from the shower; I was not in the hotel at all but for a short stay and great location is worth it. Payed aprox 100$, bathroom bigger than other European hotels

Booked this hotel via a online booking agency & there were problems with this. The hotel upgraded us to a suite with the most spectacular view to the Duomo! Room 1405. Room very clean, comfortable bed & great modern bathroom. Breakfast typical eg breads, meats, cheese, cereal, yoghurt, fruit & sweet pastries - certainly enough choice. Wifi €5 per 24...

This hotel's location is unbeatable! It is right smack in the center of town. You can look out the window from the lobby and the Duomo is right In front of you! The rooms are clean and spacious and their breakfast is okay. Their rates are very reasonable too! The only thing everyone should know though is that the hotel...

Stayed here with work, accommodating staff, chilly air con that suits my Scottish temperament, clean rooms and a decent continental buffet breakfast. The staff speak some English, better than my Italian!! They aren't fluent but we could understand each other fine. Oh and the location, absolutely superb! Right next to the duomo, half of the rooms face it, unfortunately mine...

This review is one of turning lemons to lemoncello! Before leaving for Italy, we made a reservation at the Hotel Bigallo in Florence, Italy. We had stayed there on several occasions and always in the same room with a view of the Duomo and belltower. Upon arriving, we were stunned to see that the entire front of the hotel was...

I booked this hotel despite the review on trip advisor because the location was so good and the reviews on Bookings.com all seemed fine. We were expecting a very basic room but were prepared for this again because it is right in the centre. Instead were pleasantly surprised at the good quality of the finish in the bedroom and particularly...

I loved everything about this hotel. I felt like at home there, staff was very nice, hotel was clean, good intenet, amazing location. Duomo was right in front of my window...amazing... But if you want to sleep well get the room on the other side (because of the noise and bells). Nevertheless.... I could tolerate early waking up for the...

Reception very unhelpful, one night we waited 20 min to get our key (staff disappeared), parking very costly and unsafe due to city restrictions. Room just avg, great location right in front of duomo.

After a tonne of time spent researching an affordable hotel in Florence in the best possible location to be able to view the Big Easter Sunday celebration at the Duomo (Scoppio del Carro), we found the Hotel Bigallo. We booked a room for 2 people, and the reservation was confirmed via email. Approx. 1 week before we left for Italy,...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
