This hotel was fantastic! It was the the best accommodation on our trip to Italy. The gentleman who checked us in was delightful! He was sweet and engaging and the right kind of funny! He also gave a great dinner recommendation to ***Gigi's (cant think of the full name). He always greeted us like we were his best friends and...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 2 January 2017 via mobile

We stayed at the Hotel Alessandra in Florence for 3 days and we definitely fell in love with the hotel and the city. The hotel is located in one of the quiet backstreet s of Florence and basically right in the center. All the major sights (e.g. Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Uffizi Gallery,...

We're happy to recommend the Hotel Alessandra as a great place to stay in Florence. Excellent location; friendly and helpful staff; good breakfasts (apple cake especially!); and our room was just what we wanted: we'd asked for a room with a river view, and the view from the room we got (room 26) was delightful - the Arno, and an...

We stayed 5 nights at the Hotel Allesandra and extended our stay another 2 nights because it was a lovely location just three blocks from Ponte Vecchio. The staff was friendly and funny, caring. Our room 12B was large and faced the street yet was quite. Don't forget to go up on the tiny secret terrace with the view of...

A lovely hotel with smiling and helpful staff. The location is unbeatable. The building is attractive, our room was huge and well decorated. I'd happily return which I have never said of any past Florence hotels.

I can not say enough how lucky we were to choose Hotel Alessandra. I found out that my two college age kids wanted to visit Florence for a few days apart from their stay in Milan. I looked at the reviews and fell upon Hotel Alessandra based on good ratings and excellent location. A simple call to Andrea was all...

We were so welcomed by the friendly staff at Hotel Alessandra, especially Andrea Gennarini, Monti, and Christopher. When we traveled to Venice for the weekend and returned for another day in Florence, we felt like we were coming home. Our room was spacious and we enjoyed the breakfast every morning. It was nice to be so close to the Duomo...

A comfortable pensione on a relatively quiet street near the Ponte Vecchio. The staff is very kind and helpful, and Andrea in particular is quite knowledgeable about the neighborhood. The breakfast is what you want, whether that is just a quick espresso or bacon and eggs. Highly recommended.

Hotel Alessandra has great service (Mama, Andrea, Monte and the rest). The location is in walking distance of museum's piazza's, churches, great restaurants and the river. It's a quaint little hotel, but is big on servicing it's guests. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our family run hotel is right in the heart of Florence old town - near to the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio. Without doubt, Hotel Alessandra is one of the most centrally located hotels in Florence. In this privileged position, Hotel Alessandra offers a home away from home, with our friendly team and extensive knowledge of the local area. The hotel entrance is situated on the second floor of the building. You can reach the reception floor using the lift, small but working fine (in the 1400s buildings hadn't been designed with this in mind!) But please note that there are around 30 steps from the entrance on the street level to the departure of the lift. We very much look forward to seeing you! Andrea and Anna ... more   less
