Really well situated and easy to get to everything in Florence. Bedrooms are basic but clean and the staff's local knowledge is so helpful. Definitely a place to stay if you want to see all the sights but it isn't a romantic hotel t spend time languishing in your room, the walls are thin and the rooms are small!

The best part about this hotel is it's location. Easy to walk to all the places a tourist would like to see, and only a few minutes away from the railway station. The staff were friendly, the continental breakfast was simple but perfectly adequate, the bedroom and ensuite bathroom were basic but clean, in fact everything you would expect from...

Dear jsbpfb, thanks for your comments on our hotel although satisfactory. We do not agree that our breakfast room on the second floor is old and sad indeed we think it's very warm and relaxing atmosphere with its wooden paneling and soft lighting, there seems that your is a very striking judgment. Greetings from Florence

Even though the location of this hotel is great , the rooms are very cosy and the linens and towels smells. Hospitality is ok. The hanger came out of the wall at midnight. I could hear people watching TV all night making noise. I thought even if it's one star hotel it would be ok to stay just one night,...

Dear Milan, thank you for your review but we have to point out something: You arrived in the early afternoon and stay in room some minutes, why you didn't tell us nothing about the bad smell? Our linens follows an external sterilization process in a specialized company, maybe you're probably not used to sleeping in a clean bed. In all...

The location is perfect! The train station is 5 minute walk and if you find the shortcut to the duomo, the walk is about 3 minutes. The staff is very friendly and you can leave the luggage on the day of departure. We took the breakfast, it was decent. There was coffee, bread, juice, milk and cereal. It was okay...

This hotel has a very good location, in walking distance for everything, and mainly only a few minutes from the train station. Room was clean and for a good price. Common bathroom was also clean and nice

Two persons, we stayed 3 nights (20-22 Nov) in a double room with external bathroom. We wanted a central hotel, just for sleeping, as we intended to spend all days long exploring Florence. So it was a perfect choice for us: very good location, close to the train station and all important city tourist attraction at a walking distance. In...

We stayed for 3 nights on 28-31 Oct. The location of this hotel is SUPERB as it is just stone throw away from Firenze Santa Maria Novella railway station & also the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore. This is a family run hotel and we stayed on the 3rd floor. The room & toilet was surprisingly clean, spacious &...

We traveled in a group of 5 students and stayed in two rooms. The rooms were huge, and had separate bathrooms. We only slept at the hotel, it wasn't a hotel where we stayed in the room during the day. The staff was ok, we didn't talk much to them. They seemed nice. There's a toilet you can use that's not...

Great experience for two nigths in Florence. Friendly staff. It's located in the center of the city and near to the train station. The price is the best option for this location. There's no elevator. You can visit many sites by walk.

The hotel is not clean at all: bed linen and towels smell fishy. There was mold in our bath room and the floor was filthy including lots of dust underneath our bed. The bed is hard and uncomfortable. Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
