A great location... could definitely do with an uplift though! However, when in Florence you're there to see the sights and not spend time cooped up inside your hotel room! Breakfast was included but was very simple and the floor definitely needed a good mop as it was sticky! The lady working the breakfast seemed rushed off her feet clearing...

There is an amazing view of the duomo from the terrace, it's very central, the rooms are quite clean, but apart from that this hotel is appalling. I think we probably had the best room, but the bathroom was tiny and you couldn't have a shower without flooding it. It opened onto the communal balcony which was nice for the...

If this was based on the last 24 hrs it would be 4+. But we were stuffed into a ridicilous small and depressive room the first night, but the staffed admitted the mistake, gave us a good room and cut the rate for the first night. The roof terrace is a 5star and worth the stay. The location is a...

Stayed here for two nights while i was in florence . The place says breakfast included but i wouldnt actually call it breakfast as they just offer you some bread rolls and jams and tea, pineapple /lemon juice. Since i dont really like bread rolls i had no options. Also its a disappointment that there is no Wifi and worst...

This was the worst hotel ever visited. It is comparable to a $2/night hostel in hell. From the horrific smell, no wifi, extensive black mold, toilet literally in the shower to the complete feeling no safety. This place needs to be condemned. Avoid at all cost. Way way way over priced for zero amenities and risk to health.

I paid 85 per night and it's not worth it. The whole hotel is very dirty, the bathroom is small (I have to open the door to clean my theeth) and the rooms are not good. Good things: it's in a very good place and you have wonderful views from the terrace.

The staff were friendly and the room seemed clean. The bathroom, however, was cramped and very difficult to use. The water pressure was terrible which proved taking a shower nearly impossible. Our group, which was spread out over five rooms across the hotel, found this to be a problem as well. The hand towels are cloth dinner napkins and the...

We booked a room only with my best friend. When we arrived we had to wait until 2pm to check in. The personnel was not welcoming at all. When we arrived at 2pm to check in they told us that we have to transfer to another hotel for the night because the room was not available. We told them that...

We arrived at the medici hotel to check in and were offered 'the apartment'.. we thought you beauty itl be private and we were told by the receptionist that it will be quiet as there was a school group staying at the hotel also. The 'apartment ' was 3 blocks from the actual hotel. We were given the keys and...

The location is amazing!!!! Right next to the Duomo and 10 minutes walk from the train station but there was no wifi at all.... And on my last day there was no water in the room. Bathroom very small so if you want to take a shower you would have to make a mess of the room.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
