We stayed 1 night as part of an Insight "Highlights of Europe" tour. The hotel was very nice; the bar and restaurant were very good and our room was relatively large for Europe. Fortunately, we had a quiet room on the side so we didn't have to contend with the noisy street front (as reported by other tour members)

Great location, reasonable price, excellent people welcome you to this wonderful gem near the Florence Train station. The breakfast is excellent and bar has a lot of selections. Every major attraction is no more than a 5 to 15 minute taxi ride. Get restaurant recommendations from the front desk. They sent us to some wonderful eating places. Very helpful and...

I will never recommend this hotel to my friends. My stay there was so unpleasant. The reception staff was not only unfriendly but also outrightly unwilling to help with finding out the train schedule from Florence to Milan. Also the furniture and carpet in the room were old.

I love to travel, and I'm not one to complain because... you know... travel is amazing. But Londra in Florence was not an enjoyable stay and in my opinion, not a four star property. The rooms weren't clean (mold in the bathrooms), the beds were uncomfortable, the restaurant food was pretty terrible. I did not enjoy my two night stay...

I stayed in this hotel for one business week. The majority of the meeting room are in the basement without windows and the private rooms are very noisy. Furthermore the reception desk organisation is not really efficient, you must wait a while every time you have an inquiry. The overall evaluation is poor for business travelers. It is probably the...

I stayed at the Hotel Londra for two days, and I can report that this is certainly not a 4* property. While the public areas seem to have been refurbished, my room was small, dark, charmless and run down. The bath was adequate, though it flooded each time I took a shower. The front desk staff was not particularly helpful,...

My wife and I stayed here for a 3 night visit to Firenze. The Hotel is located within walking distance of the main sites and is clean, tidy and well equipped. The rooms are quirky but modern and comfortable. The venue is reasonably priced and I would recommend a stay here.

We took this hotel because if his proximity to the congress center... on internet it seems to be more modern and attractive then in real; The lobby is comfortable but somewhat old fashion; My biggest disappointment came from my room (202); old fashion, old fourniture and a bathroom for disable people, with a dirty shower and floods each time i...

We stayed for 2 nights. Our room had 2 single beds, they were very comfortable however the pillows were a bit flat. The room was very spacious and clean. Our room was right next to the road and railway tracks which I thought would pose a noise problem but with the double glazed windows, there was hardly any noise. 5...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
