The hotel is located in the heart of Florence. It is very convenient that we can just put back our shopping stuff. Anyway, I was surprised when I first stepped into the room. It is very spacious for Europe standard. Apparently it's Wheel chair accessible room with ramps near main door, toilet and a small living room. Hotel staff is...

My husband and I met my parents and aunt in Florence in Thanksgiving 2016. We stayed 10 days at Hotel Calzaiuoli and used Florence as our hub to explore Tuscany and Rome. This hotel is on a mainly pedestrian street. Vehicles are permitted, but they are restricted. Its very nice to exit the hotel and be in the pedestrian bustle...

This is the second time we stay at the Calzaiuoli. The hotel has been recently renovated. Rooms are very well accommodated with large spaces and elegant decorations. The location could not be better, 5 min walking distance to everywhere. Highly recommended.

This hotel is centrally located for sightseeing and shopping. It is only a block from Duomo and a short walk to the river. There are many leather stalls and stores near the hotel for you to browse. It is a 10 minutes walk from the train station to the hotel. There are many places to eat outside of the hotel....

We loved our stay at Hotel Calzaiuoli, right down to the charming oversized brass key to the room. This hotel is a gem. The room was so comfortable, beautifully appointed, spacious with a small entry way, impeccably clean and had a rather impressive large closet for luggage and bags. Bathroom was sparkling and newly renovated, with a large glass shower...

The Hotel Calzaiuoli couldn't be better located and is a great hotel for a few romantic days in Florence. Because it sits between Piazzas Della Repubblica and Signoria, it's an easy walk to many of the important sites but also some high end shopping. We took a very short taxi ride from the train station but it was more like...

We are so glad we chose this hotel. The room was clean and elegant. The breakfast buffet was a great way to start each day. And when you exit the doors of the hotel, if you look to your right you are a one minute walk from Il Duomo, and if you look to your left you are a one...

The Calzaiuoli Hotel puts you in walking distance of all the major sites and museums. The room was an average size for a hotel in Europe, with a great staff and very nice breakfast. Even though we faced the street, you could not hear the people on the street. I would stay again and recommend to anyone.

When planning our trip to Florence we based our hotel choice on location and price, but the location of this hotel really exceeded our expectations. A few steps away from the Duomo and the Piazza della Signoria. I loved our room. Good-sized, comfortable beds (although we would have preferred 1 king, rather than the two twins we were given). Everything...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
