We stayed for 3 nights at the Hotel Ambasciatori in Florence at the beginning of Oct. I had picked this Hotel after reading many Hotel Reviews in Tripadvisor. I wanted a Hotel close to the Train Station so that we wouldn't have a problem with our luggage. We were able to take the left door out from the end of... More

First things first the hallway smells like sewage. Shower drain didn't drain. Front desk people were super rude. The bed was uncomfortable it was just 2 beds pushed together and the pillows non existent that were so hard and flat. Plus I found BLOOD on the sheets that was DEFIANTLY NOT MINE. Breakfast wasn't good everything tasted stale. I would... More

Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay though I am so sorry it wasn’t the experience you were hoping for. However, I don't understand why you haven't informed us about all these problems during your stay, we surely would have found a solution. We'd love to hear more about what went wrong and how we... Rooms are a bit small but perfect for two people. The breakfast is fresh and the wait staff are on top of refilling and cleaning. One down side is we were facing the train station and it was load all day and night. We asked if we could move rooms but they told us we had to pack our things... More

This hotel was disappointing. I think there must have been some renovations taking place during our stay. Good location but we were unfortunate to be facing the Metro. The bathroom was tiny, even for European standards and the amenities were less than ideal. The elevator was slow and small so we took the stairs everyday. The breakfast was poor and... More

We loved staying at this hotel for 3 nights . Staff extra nice, helpful . We got great help and recommendations on booking tours, and eating at good restaurants. Was very convenient location . Walking distance to train station, since we arrived Florence via fast train . Shopping , food , and some nice attractions are also walking distance .

Part of Momogram tour. Walking from train station across the street very disappointed by look of hotel BUt it was beautiful inside. Rooms were small but very very comfortable with fluffy white bedding. Very nice breakfast. Easy walk to leather markets, the Duomo....good location

So So. Typical size room for Europe. Bathroom was a sauna. Room faced train station, so opening the window was out. No AC in the rooms as it was "off for the season", it was so hot and stuffy we didn't sleep the three nights we were here. Walking distance 10-15 mins to most "must see" places.

I had 3 nights at this hotel.....never again. I booked a double room and specifically asked for a QUIET room. My room overlooked a bus terminal. A good location next to the train station and 10 minutes walk to Duomo makes this the ideal base to explore Florence. The rooms are on the smaller side but clean and well appointed with everything you need. The breakfast is mediocre (two days there were cold eggs and greasy bacon as well as a broken coffee machine) but there... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
