Probably, the best hotel location in Florence if you arrive by train. You really just have to cross the street out of Firenze SMN station and you arrive in the hotel. Excellent location, very good breakfast and comfortable room.
This hotel could not be closer to the train station. We walked off the train and found it directly across the street. It was also well situated to all the historic attractions of Florence. Staff were incredibly helpful and spoke excellent English. Our room was...More

Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The
area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.

The hotel like any other in Europe has small rooms and small bathrooms. What your paying for here is the location. I travel to Rome yearly and of all the areas, Spanish steps is the place to be. Shopping and restaurants are all there plus metro is so near. If your looking for a five star hotel this is not it. But the people are friendly and the re is so much to do outside the hotel.
