Great Hotel. Friendly staff with a good breakfast. Stayed here with friends using this hotel as a base for exploring Florence. Only 10 mins walking to the train station and about 20 minutes to the cathedral. Very nice roof top bar and outside seating area, there is a small pool but we were there at the wrong time of year...

Hotel is close to the Station and to the River. Rooms are spotlessly clean, have adequate toiletries and an abundance of hot water. Beds were comfortable with crisp fresh linen. Breakfast is self service ..but a huge choice and all fresh. We ate in Restaurant one night and it was superb. Tea Bags not topped up in room is my...

On arrival the room we had been allocated was cosmetically in a poor state of repair with the heater/air conditioner souring like a "Harley Davidson" motorcycle. Our room was changed with no complaints, to a room of much more acceptable standard. The rooftop dining room gives panoramic views of the city. It is nice to have an evening drink in...

We stayed for 4 nights, the receptionist when we arrived was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, comfortable and were cleaned every day. There was a free safe in the bedrooms. The breakfast were very good with smoked salmon, and typical English breakfast as well as cornflakes, yogurts, fresh fruits and the normal continental breakfast with a lovely selection...

We stayed for 5 nights all good except having to ask for more tea and coffee and very hard pillows. The staff are wonderful each desk person being more helpful and pleasant than the next. Nothing was too much trouble the same in the restaurant. It was a very easy walk to the station taking 8 mins wheeling our cases....

Good location, close to the bridge Ponte Vecchio. Very friendly staff, at reception and in the restaurant, which I recommend. We had a family studio, which was very large and with a great atmosphere. Very clean and maintained. The restaurant and the rooftop bar and pool are amazing, the view leave you speechless! We will definitely visit again Florence and...

I was travelling with a group and this was the allocated hotel. My room was comfortable and very clean. I was given a room for a disabled person as the bathroom had no shower curtain and there was also a seat where one could shower. Breakfast was served on the roof and we were afforded a lovely view of Florence....

Lovely hotel with two beautiful strengths. There is a rooftop restaurant with a fantastic view of the City, all the towers, spires and the Duomo. Also on the roof is a small swimming pool where you can cool off during the hot summer afternoons and as you swim again see the same fabulous views

Nice hotel, located close to center. Rooms are spacious right and clean. There are balconies in many rooms. Breakfast is a bit boring and same everyday, but ok. Staff is very nice and helpful.During the summer you can enjoy roof pool.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
