We stayed here in August this year in a family room. Beautiful hotel, with many stunning antiques. Very well located. Staff were very nice staff, attentive and made us very welcome. Breakfast is varied and in line with Italian tradition. Not a hotel for those...More
As it is, I do think Florence is the most romantic city in Italy. Located just on Arno River, the premise feels even more romantic with the gorgeous sunsets and 360 view which could be enjoyed on the roof terrace.

A charming hotel on the river. Set in a slightly quieter location but within easy distance of all you could want to see. Comfortable room and bathroom. The bath in my room would have been more suited to a child but never mind.

Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The
area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
