Very nice hotel along the Piazza della Republica. The room and hotel were beautiful. The staff was great. The breakfast room was tremendous. Only draw back is there is a club very close by that has live music and it is very loud and goes to very early in the morning. I assume it affects all hotels in this area...

Beautifully restored hotel with history scattered throughout. We had a beautiful room with a bay window that opened out onto the square, perfect for people watching. The reception was helpful and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, including a same day laundry service. The breakfast room is lovely and food on offer is plentiful, more than enough to choose...

This was a reasonably priced hotel, central to everything you might want to see on a short trip to Florence, all within walking distance. We spent 5 days here. Our room was quite large and included a sitting room in addition to the bedroom which was so welcome after the tiny places we had in Barcelona and Venice for the...

First, the hotel has an elevator even its front desk is on 4th floor, I think it's important because most of European hotels doesn't own their lifts. Moreover, I was suddenly into the room when at the first sight of it. Its floral wallpaper, classic double bed with yellow metal legs and the amazing key-like handles on the wardrobe make...

We could not believe how central the hotel was , literally 2 mins walk from everything . The room was huge and spotlessly clean . Staying at Hotel Pendini was the perfect location for navigating around Florence. It is centrally located, very near good restaurants, shops and of course, historical sites. We had a fantastic view overlooking the Piazza della Repubblica. One night (the night of the Vogue fashion event), the noise from the piazza could be heard from our room but it was not...

At first, it was charming to hear classic music coming from the outside of the lively Piazza de la Repubblica. By 1:30 AM, when you heard the same exact song played over and over on the accordion, you started to go bonkers. By the third night, hearing the same song and that you were awake past midnight, you felt like...

I am sorry but I cannot believe this property receives such high reviews. Upon our arrival and discovering this hotel is covered in scaffolding and under construction, we were assigned one of their unremodeled and thoroughly disgusting rooms on the second floor. These rooms are dismal and reek of sewer gases and paint fumes. I immediately requested a different room,...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
