Charming lovely staff. Great location. Older but well maintained. Great value for the location - which is walking distance to everything you'd want. It was a little difficult to find as we walked from train station. You do't want a car in the area although they do have garage access down the street.

The room we stayed in was very similar to the one on the picture: modern-minimalistic design but very pleasant and functional. These rooms are on the top (3rd) floor the other two floors having quaint classicist retro design rooms. The hotel doesn`t look like much from the outside but is very pleasant with friendly and helpful staff. All rooms are...

Very nice friendly staff. Really decent sized bedrooms. Clean however bathroom was dated and small. I think some have been refurbished based on the photos. Breakfast room was big huge but a very nice selection available. A nice man at reception allowed us to leave our luggage until we were ready to leave later that day. Overall a nice hotel...

Fabulous small hotel with very helpful staff. We stayed here last week, in two single rooms. The double rooms which we were given were quiet, clean and comfortable, although I did find the bed rather firm. The complimentary toiletteries consist of soap and shampoo. The hairdryer provided is 100 watts and perfectly good to blow dry my coarse wavy hair....

Very nice staff, new modern room and bath, comfortable beds, great location. Absolutely good value for money. Parking is very close to the hotel. Fine, but little Italian breakfast, enough for a good start to the day. We recommend!

This hotel is very well located in the city center of Firenze close to the train station/bus stop to Airport. Very small room as announced. The bathroom was a complete disaster (very small, dirty, only a curtain to close the shower less than 10 cm away from the toilets). Sound insulation towards the outside was good but not to the...

The rooms of this hotel are very dated and they don't come with many frills - there is no kettle, or tea making facilities. There is a mini-bar but they charge for the water in it (unlike some other hotels). However you probably just want somewhere to rest your head at night, and this place is well located and will...

We stayed at Hotel Unicorno for 4 nights in September 2016 and it was a very enjoyable stay. The location of the hotel is fantastic - close to the main train station and many of the most popular tourist attractions. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They also arranged an early breakfast on our last day due to us...

We stayed at the Uncorno for 2 nights and had a great stay. The breakfast was good both days and the rooms clean. The owners went out of their way to help us find locations and make recommendations - very friendly and fun. The room we had was pretty basic but the location worked great for our outings.

Hotel Unicorno is nicely situated just a short walk from the railway station and the old town centre. The staff went out of their way to assist us and to mind our luggage on our final day there after we checked out. They gave us very good recommendations for local restaurants and places to see and visit. We speak no...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
