The Hotel Monna Lisa is a quaint hotel near the city center of Florence. The staff is very friendly and all speak English very well. Breakfast was included, which consisted of boiled eggs, meats, cheeses, hard rolls, sweet rolls, fruits, cereals, coffee, cappuccino, espresso, teas, etc. The dining area as well as the courtyard were lovely. It was an easy...

We enjoyed a pleasant weekend at this charming hotel. Rooms are pleasant and filled with character. It is an easy walk to all the major sights and a quiet part of town for a restful evening. The staff is helpful and friendly. They made a restaurant recommendation for us just down the street at La Giostra for a celebration meal...

We discovered this hotel some five years ago and we liked it that much that we are revisiting it every year since. The hotel is hidden in Pinto Borgo a not too well known street in the historic part of Florence, but quite near to all major attractions of the town. It is a medieval house, which is kept in...

Three of us stayed here the first week of August. It was a very nice quiet retreat just a few blocks away from the noise, crowds and sights of old Florence. The staff was amazing and went out of their way to male you feel welcome. The room ( a quad) was spacious and clean. The beds were a bit...

Hotel Monna Lisa is a lovely little hotel in Florence. It is located on a quiet street but an easy walk to museums and restaurants. The building itself is quite charming and has such an interesting history. There are several common sitting areas with high ceilings, large windows, and comfortable furniture. The colorful garden is filled with little cafe tables...

This was the 2nd hotel that we stayed at over our weeks stay in Italy, and this hotel turned out to be by far the best. We decided to walk from the Firenzi Termini which was a fair walk with suitcases (approx 20/25 minutes) although the hotel did provide me with costs for taxi's we thought we'd try and save...

It was our tenth wedding anniversary and we wanted to spend a week somewhere with charm and personality. Our week in the Monna Lisa did not disappoint. It's a beautiful hotel, and the staff were all charming and friendly. When you first enter the hotel you walk across a covered courtyard where the ceiling is decorated in old paintings very...

The only thing I didn't like about this hotel was the size of the room and the bed was too soft for my taste. I didn't feel like we had enough room for two medium sized suitcases. That said, the hotel is very charming and quiet. I really loved the common areas and garden. It's in a great location and...

We stayed in this beautiful hotel and I would highly recommend it to anyone. It is full of character and history and ideally situated. We went with two of our teenage children. Our rooms looked out onto the beautiful gardens, perfect for sitting in with a glass of wine after a full day of sightseeing. Each of our rooms were...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
