We booked this hotel for our 3 day break in Florence, we travelled from Rome on the train and took a taxi from the station which was 10 euro and not necessary as it’s only a short walk to the hotel. We were checked in efficiently by the friendly receptionist and allocated room 505. We had reserved and paid extra for a room with view and strictly speaking we had a view , but it was of the main shopping street so I’m unsure if any of the rooms have a view of anything other than this as the hotel is situated in the main shopping street. The room was sparkling clean and had a comfortable Queen sized bed . The bathroom was also well equipped and has shower bath and a hairdryer. There are no tea or coffee making facilities, we were booked on a room only basis so if you need you morning cuppa you have to book breakfast 15 euro each or go to the cafe which is part of the hotel, there is however a mini bar.
We had a few issues with our room which remained unresolved, the first being that the shower control lever was broken albeit we could get the shower to work, they sent maintenance up immediately, he inspected the shower and advised he would return to fix however it remained broken when we left.
Secondly the plug in the bathroom sink was stuck in the plug hole and could not be removed thus we couldn’t drain the used dirty water from this sink, this was reported to a very curt receptionist on our second day, this issue also remained unresolved when we left and we were forced to drain the sink with a plastic cup both days.
The hotel home page gives an evening view of the roof terrace with candlelight tables which is a little misleading as you are only permitted to use the terrace if you purchase breakfast, we asked the receptionist at one point if we could sit on the roof terrace in the afternoon and were very rudely advised we could not , I don’t really understand why not.
There is a lovely cafe attached to the hotel which serves delicious croissant and cakes and we used this on several occasions during our stay , the staff there were very nice .
I would recommend this hotel for its location only 5 minutes to the Duomo and very centrally located, staff are in the main very nice and the rooms are spacious and airy . I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. All staff always greeted us with a smile and always polite. The room we had was clean and spacious. The hotel itself is a 5 min walk from the tram stop (which I recommend using from the airport) and another 5 mins to the cathedral - great location. The tram is 1.50 each for a 15 min journey from airport to unita. The breakfast is continental, so a bit samey, but still lovely and the coffee was the best we had all weekend. City tax is 4.90 pppn...overall, an enjoyable stay 😁

We picked this hotel for its location at a reasonable price. We were delighted with the choice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was convenient to everything - we even walked with our luggage from the train station. The breakfast was served on the terrace with a view of the Duomo (we also had wine on the terrace in the evening). The buffet breakfast was the best that we had on the trip. The rooms were comfortable - we had a 1st floor room overlooking an intersection. However, the window was double insulated with very little street noise.

This is a delightful hotel in a perfect location, close to the train station and just 1 minute from the Duomo. The staff were very friendly and allowed us to check in as soon as our room was ready. Car parking was easy with reasonably priced valet parking in the ZTL. I would definitely stay there again on my next visit to Florence.

Laurus Al Duomo
We stayed here for 6 nights and we were very happy with our choice. It is close to everything you want to see (Duomo, Accademmia, Etc.) but also quiet. We were two friends who had a Jr. Suite which was great. It had a bedroom area with a closet with a safe in it, a bathroom in the middle, and a smaller sitting area with a sofa bed, desk, and fridge. There was also a kettle and coffee and tea on the desk. The room was very clean and quiet.
The bathroom was like a lot of European bathrooms with a deep, slippery tub with a handheld shower and a glass shield. The tub had a nice heated towel bar which gave you something to grab while getting in and out of the shower. A non-slip mat for the tub would be nice.
The breakfast room had a nice outdoor terrace with a view of the Duomo. The buffet included fresh fruit, yogurt, meat and cheese slices, breads, eggs, cereals, and pastries. A very typical European hotel breakfast buffet. They had decaf coffee and soy milk.
The front desk and breakfast room staffs were all friendly and helpful.

This is a hotel right in the centre of historic Florence, with a few steps from the Duomo and easy access to the train station and bus routes. We had a 'room with a view' for the nights we stayed and very nice it was too as was the breakfast on the roof terrace with view of a neighbouring dome. Air con worked well as did WIFI. Room was managed daily and the reception staff Griselda and Fabrizio were so helpful re public transport, restaurants and local language. We loved the central location, especially in the heat as it meant we could easily return from sight seeing later in the day for a quick freshen up before heading out again. Breakfast staff responded well to gluten free needs with fresh croissants and cake every morning - what a treat for coeliacs! I would highly recommend this hotel and would happily stay again if we were ever in Florence.

I had asked if we could arrive earlier than 14:00 and was told it was not a problem.
We arrived and were told to put our luggage in a corner in the vestibule - no locker. I almost had to pull badges out of the receptionist, who seemed totally uninterested in us as guests.
When we returned to the hotel at 14:30 to get to our room, there was no control of what we took of luggage.
We had to ask for a WiFi password ourselves!
It is not suitable for a Hotel of the standard you invoke - 4 stars ****
The breakfast was if possible the most boring we got in the 4 weeks we were away. Don’t not leave your plate unprotected at the terrace, it is immediately emptied by the pigeons; the hotel should do something effective to keep them out of the terrace. The young service staff were more interested in having a smoking break, than emptying and cleaning outside tables.
It was also symptomatic of the hotel that there were cardboard cups for the tea / coffee set in the room, and no refilling of coffee stock took place as we stayed there for two nights
All in all, a very disappointing experience, which was far surpassed by much cheaper hotels!

Dear mogensen2018, We thank you for your evaluation even if we are very sorry for your opinion. We would just like to clarify that arriving at the hotel is allowed even before the scheduled check-in time of 14:00, but this does not mean that you are immediately entitled to the room. We say this only to allow our guests to leave their luggage and start visiting the city freely. In any case, we take note of your opinion that will help us improve the above mentioned services for which we have already foreseen improvements. However, we hope to have another opportunity to welcome you and leave you with a fully positive memory of your stay with us. In the meantime we offer Kind regards
