We spend three lovely days at the hotel. It is a comfortable hotel, great front desk and in the middle of the everything. We had breakfast at the hotel each morning...The buffet wwas well stocked with fruit, cheese, eggs, bacon , cereal and pastry treats. It was a great way to start each day. Of note....it is quite tricky to...

This should be 5*. Fantastic hotel, friendly, lovely staff. Really clean, beautiful decor, no complaints at all. Spoilt us on our actual anniversary. Room was what we requested - a view of the bell tower & Duomo. Plenty of bathroom accessories. Turn down service, comfortable bed. Woke up to the Duomo chimes at 7am, adding to the experience of Florence....

The room was stylish and comfortable with air conditioning and as we had arrived in the middle of a heatwave it was very much appreciated. The hotel is an interesting mix of new and old. The tower, which is also a restaurant, is the oldest building in Florence and there is a small museum in the basement which is worth...

What a great place. I don't normally even review my hotels but this is a diamond. It is so close yet it is tucked in a quiet little ally way. Walking distance to everything, great breakfast, good service. You won't be disappointed.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in. Extremely comfortable with two excellent restaurants associated with it, one of which I have separately reviewed (Osteria Della Pagliazza). It is very much a traditional hotel, bristling with character but offering every modern convenience. It is well sited in Florence, close to Piazza Della Signoria, Piazza Della Repubblica, Uffizi Gallery and...

We booked our room for 2 nights a few months back through a hotel booking site. Got a great rate, so much so that we even called after booking to confirm the reservation made it through. We were told everything was set. We arrive to the hotel and our room has no power, water, or any other services. Hmm, go...

Great staff and very accommodating. Being that it is an historical landmark, it is a tourist attraction. Great walking location for everything. They actually have a Roman bath and museum in the basement. Very cool. Very expensive bar.

Almost everything about this hotel was excellent. The situation was central and superb, less than 5 minutes walk from more exciting architecture. The rooms generally overlook busy streets for those who want to people watch but the sound proofing is nearly perfect. I can comment on 9 rooms (stayed here with my staff for a business anniversary) which was a)...

Stayed here for four days. Impeccable staff and real five star care. Paulus, suite manager cannot do enough for making guests happy. And in a city with so many options. That's a gift to be appreciated. The panorama room was absolutely right out of a movie set. One of my most favorite rooms ever. Period. The regular rooms I peeked...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
