Our room was way bigger than we expected (always a nice surprise) and the hotel is in a great location. Walking distance to everything. The hotel is clean and tidy, breakfast was fine but I think dinner at the restaurant was too pricey. Especially when there are cheaper and lovely restaurants within a few hundred metres. We travelled with a...

Spent two days in Florence with my husband. Hotel Rivoli couldn't have been in a better location, just a short walk to all of the main tourist sites. We were lucky as the 1st Sunday of the month is free entry to some of the museums & galleries. The hotel was absolutely spotless, probably the best housekeeping we've had, unfortunately...

It was my second stay. Unexpectedly I've got a bigger room - it was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was good. At night it was pretty noisy outside - I had to close my windows. The only and big disappointment - the hot tub was under maintenance, and no one cared to notify clients before they have booked the hotel. For...

Dear Mrs Stephanie, Thank you for your nice words on us, it is always a pleasure for us to red that. I'm sorry for the Jacuzzy, but due to extreme urgent maintenance we had to stop it for while. I hope you will come back soon to have a relaxing bath in our garden. Thanks again and Arrivederci !! Daniele...

Service melt my heart. Since there is no esculator, and we have bulky luggages - we need to call hotel staff to pick up our luggage and climb up the stairs while check-in, and bring it down while check-out. LOT of works. Room is ok. A bit aged but still in good condition. Bathroom is very spacious. Room is clean....

Dear Tess, I'm really glad you had such a good experience at the Rivoli Boutique Hotel. Our building is dated XIVth century and all our rooms are diffferent, specially rooms overlooking the garden might have some stairs to climb, but as you noticed we provide Porter service for this. We wait for you to have some good Chocolate and send...

Stayed in a family suite, with teenage children. The advertised "twin room" was not really a room, rather an opening off the hallway large enough to accommodate two dilapidated beds and a tv. The "twin beds" were extremely old, matrasses lumpy and tired, perched on the top of two old wire framed sofa couch bottoms. The most uncomfortable and poor...

Dear Guest, I'm really sorry that the experience with our extra beds has been so bad that, after almost 4 months you wanted to let us know. The second room in the Family SUite, is normally a sitting room with TWO sofabeds, that upon request can be coverted in regular size beds. Matterasses in the sofa beds are a little...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located in the old town of Florence, the Hotel Rivoli offers class hospitality with charm, as well as spacious and elegantly decorated hotel rooms and suites. The Hotel Rivoli is a 4-star superior hotel that is set inside a restored 14th-century Franciscan convent, where guests can breath the charming and unique atmosphere of this ancient historic building in the city of Florence. The restoration has highlighted the architectural details dating back to 1500 such as arches and vaults, coffered ceilings and stone columns. Guests are welcomed in an enchanting setting full of cozy atmosphere, embellished by refined common areas, which are conceived as an oasis of tranquility away from the hectic pace of the city. The Internal Patio, which was obtained from a complete renovation of the Franciscan cloister, is now dedicated to relaxation and wellbeing, featuring an unforgettable 20 sqm-whirlpool that is also open during the winter with a constant water temperature of 36° C. The location could not be better, a few steps from the Santa Maria Novella railway station, the Duomo Cathedral, Ponte Vecchio Bridge, opposite the ancient and famous Officina Profumo di Santa Maria Novella, and the most important museums. In addition to the interior elegant and spacious patio, the Hotel Rivoli guests can enjoy the quiteness of the small "garden of medlar", an exceptional lounge where to spend moments of real relax; in summer time the garden is available for breakfast and dinners prepared and served by Benedicta Restaurant , 3 Michelin forks. ... more   less
