The Pierre Hotel was in a good central location but that is about as far as I would go to recommending this hotel. For what was not a cheap hotel, our room was quite tired. Old furniture inside of the room. The staff was not friendly at all. The reception was not very helpful or pleasant. The breakfast was very...

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had 2 regular rooms on the 5th floor for my husband, myself and our 2 teenagers. They gave us 2 rooms next to each other and they were both spacious although not as clean as I would have liked. I am a little fanatical about cleanliness but the wood floors were a...

Very beautiful hotel. Lots of charm for a larger hotel. Great location right near Piazza della Republica and right in the city center so you only have a short walk to all major attractions and four blocks from Ponte Vecchio. The staff were helpful and gracious. The rooms were large and clean with all the facilities one would expect. Breakfast...

We were a little concerned about this one after booking online but we were very wrong. Beautiful hotel a 10 euro cab ride from train station. Location was just steps from everything we wanted to see (given it was 32C that is a good thing) and the staff were very helpful. Convenient travel agency next door for booking train tickets...

My husband and I and our 16-year-old daughter stayed at the Hotel Pierre for five nights in June 2010. We had reserved a triple, and they upgraded us to an enormous room with a king bed and a single, with a lovely modern bathroom. The location was great -- near Piazza Santa Maria and the Ponte Vecchio but quiet at...

I would gladly stay here again. Fantastic location and very friendly and helpful staff. Large rooms with all the facilities and right in the city centre, so only a short walk to all major attractions. Beautiful old building in a quiet city street Well done and I can't wait to come back.

Location: right under Piazza della Republica: very close to everything. Simply perfect! And safe too. Breakfast: 7 to 10:30. There are pastries, bread, cheese, ham, omelette, cereal, yogurt and fruits. We only had cereal, yogurt and fruits, so I can't comment on the rest, but we were pleased. The fruits are quite hard, but we managed to find edible ones....

After having a really bad hotel in Rome I was not looking forward to our hotel in Florence, but needless to say I was wrong, from the time we stepped inside the Pierre hotel we noticed the difference, the staff was warm and welcoming, the place was clean and beautiful. When we made it to our room , everything was...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
