Hotel Morandi has much charm and is in a quiet area of Florence. It is close to many of the sights and attractions Florence has to offer within walking distance. There is no traffic noice when you are looking for a good night sleep. Typically 15-20 minute walk to all major sights. Breakfast was plentiful and really nutrious. I commend...

This hotel is a former convent and it exudes character! I would absolutely stay here again and have no hesitation recommending this fine establishment. The hotel is tucked away on a quiet side street (no traffic noise!!), yet it is very close to all the major attractions. The air conditioning worked well, the beds were very comfy and the front...

Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your review following your recent stay with us and for recommending us! We took note of the "tricky door" and already put signs on it showing where to press for opening it. For security reasons we can not include a printer at the laptop but only print for our guest all they need...

We just returned from a two week trip to Italy with stops in Venice, Verona, Florence and Lucca. We were a little nervous about this hotel (convent!) given we have 3 teenage boys (12, 14 and 16). I can tell you everything about the hotel is superb. It is located 4 blocks from the Duomo in a quiet part of...

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. Your wonderful comments regarding the hotel’s location, guest rooms and service is highly appreciated. We like to give our guests a good morning fragrance with fresh cooked croissant and bread. The parking place is in a narrow street unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it, but I'm happy to take the...

Hotel Morandi Alla Crocetta was a great place to stay for my wife and I while we were in Venice. It's conveniently located near most of the major sites (within 5 minutes walking distance), while being on a side street that is a little quieter than much of the area. The breakfasts were good, and the hotel staff was excellent:...

In July 2013, my husband spent 3 nights in Hotel Morandi. We arrived by taxi and were surprised at the graffiti covered wall on the opposite side of this sidestreet- but don't let that be off-putting. Opposite was the graceful Morandi, an oasis during our stay in Florence. The location was perfect- we were able to walk the city with...

Our family of 16 stayed in this lovely hotel. It was beautifully decorated, convenient to many of the must -sees in Florence, and the staff was exceptional. We had use of a common room where we all gathered to review the adventures of the day before starting out to dinner. Surrounded by antiques and a notable history, the Morandi quickly...

The hotel is situated about 10 minutes' walk from the Duomo. It is quite small, perhaps 12 rooms, and everything has a welcome sedateness to it -- you feel like you are visiting a friend's home. The room was a little cramped but comfortable, the fittings were modern, and the internet connection was weak in some parts of the room....

No complaints about this hotel, except that we could not stay longer! Just a short walk away from the Accademia, and a little further to the Duomo, this hotel's location could not have been better for our two-night stay in Florence. Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
