The b&b is professionally run. It offers a large shared living room, a small shared kitchen and free wifi. Rooms are for rent with private or shared bathrooms, so check this when booking. Rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. Beds are made daily. Breakfast is offered at a local cafe around the corner and is very basic with 1...

I have nothing but the best things to say about IL Gattopardo! The location cannot be beat, the accommodations are extremely clean, and the service is outstanding. Our vacation included a group of 11 women renting out the entire bed and breakfast as an apartment. We arrived in Florence earlier than expected, but still very late in the evening. Alkmini...

You simply can't beat the location of this place. Your walking distance to pretty much everything worth walking to around Florence. The place is clean, the rooms are a good size and the kitchen offered everything one would need. The manager Alkmini was great. We even left items we had purchased in Florence in our room and she was kind...

We really enjoyed our stay at Il Gattopardo. You can't get any closer to the center of Florence. The apartment is really beautiful, although we didn't spend much time in there. (Several bedrooms have shared access to the rest of the apartment.) We really enjoyed chatting with Alcmena, too. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed.

We chose this place quite by chance from air bnb and its been a great choice! Smack in the heart of historic florence - off a street from piazza della signoria. Uffizi is a minute's walk away and duomo less than 5 minutes. The apartment itself is huge and beautiful. We booked last minute for a new years stay and...

This is the perfect place to stay to be convenient to all of the sights in Florence. It is in a little street right off of the Piazza della Signoria and from our window is a view of the Duomo. The architecture of the building is extremely interesting as the rooms have many arches. We found it to be immaculately...

We have just come back from a magical vacation in Florence. Not an unusual thing one might say as Florence is a magical city but this is not my first visit to Florence and a thumbs up must be given to the one and only Alek and the Gattopardo B&B. The location of this establishment is perfect, the room was...

I stayed there for 5 nights. I cannot add much more to the former comments: "Il Gattopardo" is perfectly located in a small street right in the centre of the old city, just 10-15 min away from the train station. (It was a little bit hard to find, since there are three no.1 in the same street...) All the important...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
