Gorgeous room overlooking the river. Clean and perfect...sheets soft as a baby. Amazing breakfast. Staff couldn't do more for you. Nothing negative to say about this hotel. If you can get a great rate and an upgrade it is the place to stay!

We chose this hotel originally for it's great central location plus the Starwood/Sheraton points my wife had accumulated. Boy were we impressed the minute we walked in. It was a palace when originally built, and it still shows like one. Just one step into the main dining room, and it takes your breath away, really. We were told at check...

Beautiful hotel. Stayed in the Mona Lisa Suite. Service was excellent. Hotel was spectacular. Great location. A definite must stay at when in Florence. The suite was amazing with the old detail in the room. At night from 7:00 to 8:00 they give you champagne and they showed our daughter how to cut top off with a saber. Hotel staff...

This is a terrific old hotel. Absolutely beautiful. It's a few shorty blocks to all of the wonderful tourist stops in Florence and easy walking distance to the train station. We loved it. It's right on the river with a fabulous top floor bar overlooking river and bridges.

My husband and I spent just one night at the Saint Regis in Florence and I can't say enough wonderful things about our stay there! We're SPG gold members and had the points which was a definite plus. First, the service is over the top. From the moment our taxi dropped us at the door, until we left the following...

The St Regis in Florence is truly one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in. While it's not a large hotel, its grand proportions are graceful and elegant. Its location along the Arno captures the gorgeous Florentine light and it's central enough to walk to many of the tourist sites. There are also numerous family restaurants in the...

If you are going with family or honeymoon or with friends choose St Regis or Westin. Across the plaza from Westin. Right along the water. Gorgeous breakfast area- a must. The breakfast has made to order eggs, fruit, pastries, cereals, mimosas, bloody Mary's, fresh juices, Italian meats and cheese. Unbelievable service. Butler service avail in hotel and on the go...

Lovely hotel with very good staff. Only disappointment was the restaurant where we had dinner and found service very cold and uninspiring. Interaction with all other staff members was always very nice, friendly and genuine. Breakfast service however was always friendly.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
