Stayed here as there were no rooms at the Suore Oblate Monastery a couple of doors down. Had a single room which felt a bit like a prison dorm room, very small, the bathroom was an afterthought and there is no way an above average person could possibly use it. There are three steep flights of stairs and do not...

No elevator and it's on the third floor but that wasn't a problem for us. The staff was generally nice although they were hesitant to provide additional toilet paper. The shampoo, conditioner, and soap are all-in-one and there's barely any of it so we had to buy additional supplies at the market. The toilet was inside the shower so the...

The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the train station and located in the city centre, very close to Duomo. There is no elevator in the building and the hotel is on the third floor which is a hassle with luggage. We booked a breakfast included room for 3 people for 3 nights and requested 3 single beds. One...

We spent 2 nights at the Hotel Locanda de Pazzi in January as a family. Be aware, like a lot of places in Italy, the hotel is in a highrise with no lift. The hotel is down a little street with no car access, the taxi will drop you about a 100 mtrs at the nearest cross street. As the...

Pros: Location (close walk to the Duomo and Santa Croce; not super central considering the train station and Ponte Vecchio tho); breakfast; staff; quiet and spacious room. Cons: Bathroom was old and not very comfortable (shower shared space with the toilet); overpriced considering other hotels I've been in Florence. Stayed for just one night and was not there for tourism....

I booked using Venere.it with a big discount on the room. When we arrived the hotel was in a small palace and it looked pretty old. To me it was a surprise that our room was great, the private bathroom was brand new, we had a tv, the breakfast was great and enough to fill us up untill 2pm and...

I booked a room in this hotel barely one week prior to the stay and I paid an incredibly reasonable price. The location is great, 5 minutes walk from the Cattedrale di Santa Maria dei Fiore and 10 from the Palazzo Vecchio. They offer breakfast, but I did not try it. There's no lift so if you're traveling alone with...

The place is centrally located and the staff is very helpful. The rooms are simple and adequate. Breakfast is included but again very basic, nothing noteworthy. Overall it is a fine place to crash in the city centre but don't expect too much!

Stayed here 2 nights. Friendly staff and close to centre. BUT very poor beds - desperate need of replacing. Poor decor and furniture. And the shower/bathroom is less than adequate. For the money, there are better deals, especially out of peak season.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
