This isn't any kind of bridge I have ever seen. Great views of it - be sure to see it from either side as it is different. So busy on it but it's a Must See - See the jewellers and how they secure their shops, always have artists too and people just hanging around, chilling out. Cafe at the...

We went to the ponte vecchio around lunchtime today and it's a really cool bridge to see! Going across is is a bit hectic with so many people but he jewelry stores are beautiful and when you go down the river a little the bridge is really unique to see!

This famous bridge is about a 15-20 minute walk from the main tourist attractions. There you will find a lot of jewelry stores, one after the other. Just about anything you could want in jewelry and gold. Prices seemed pretty reasonable. The bridge itself is in area where there is plenty of other shopping and places to eat.

The Ponte Vecchio is a must-see when visiting Florence. The old, stone bridge spans the Arno River at its narrowest point. The famous bridge has apartments and shops built several stories high built right on the bridge. Most of the shops are expensive jewelry stores that were a little out of our price range! The more affordable shops are right...

...amazing old bridge with an interesting history. Unfortunately it's covered with lots of cheap-looking very conservtive jewellers. Disappointing. The highlight for us was a really pretty small leather shop at the south-end of the bridge (Mannelli Pelletterie)

Went there in December 25. Easy to walk in Christmas Day, only few people in that holiday. Stores were close. Very beautiful. Many sites in Florence were close but doesn't matter. We saw the Ponte Vecchio, one of the must see in Florence. But if you like the crowds and the shopping, don't go in Christmas Day. For us was...

This city is just beyond beautiful! The small so you can really get lost and everywhere you turn around you see and feel the history! Me, my sister and our daughters ( age 12 and 16 ) stayed at the westin excelsior. Which is an amazingly beautiful hotel and close to everything. It's minutes away from the bridge ponte vecchio....

Iconic landmark in Florence that you must get a photo of before you leave, preferably from the top of the hill on the non-city side of the Arno river. Crossing the bridge did not improve my experience of Ponte Vecchio, but if you like jewellery and crowds it is worth the walk.

Florence is simply captivating. Ponte Vecchio is an incredible view on the Arno river. It's the one of the oldest stone bridges in Europe. It looks wonderful during the day but my favourite view is on summer nights. It's home to quite a few expensive jewellery stores now but there are also street artists and artisans if you wanna just...

Staying in Uffizi

Neighbourhood Profile
Uffizi
Every visitor coming to Florence for the first time will immediately identify with Uffizi. As in past times, passing through Via dei Calzaiuoli, you can reach the city center, the Florence that everybody dreams of. In just a few steps, visitors can experience the rare beauty of the capital of the Renaissance. walking delighted across Palazzo Vecchio and overlooking Piazza della Signoria, up to the Loggia of the Uffizi where it is possible to fully taste the talent of the best artists who animated Florence over the centuries. When the sun goes down, there’s nothing better than a walk along the river Arno up to the ancient bridge, Ponte Vecchio. It is full of jewels and decorated by the colors captured in postcards.
