The Elios was built in the historical part of Taormina. It is the perfect place to stay whilst spending a pleasant relaxing vacation or whilst visiting the local tourist attractions of the area. The hotel is managed by the owner together with a trusted and highly qualified staff. Guests are greeted with a warm welcome and are sure to spend a pleasant stay in a cosy atmosphere. The hotel has a large terrace with a beautiful view of the Ionian Sea, the Calabrian Coastline, of Taormina and its bays, the Giardini Naxos (Naxos Gardens) and a view of Mount Etna Volcano with its occasional eruptions and lava flows. Taormina, known as the Perla dello Ionio (Pearl of the Ionian Sea) is a great starting point to begin visiting some of the most important archaeological sites of Sicily.
Nice location, easy to clean rooms, very nice helpful staff. It is close to the old town. Price ratio is excellent. Parking is very convenient, but forecasters at the hotel for your parking needs to be solved somehow. Be sure to ask for a room overlooking the sea, the premium is not expensive.

The location of the hotel is nice and we've chosen it because of a (charged) parking facility. The room was not good, there was a leak in the bathroom sink that was letting the towels wet and seemed that the there was no care at all with the place, everything seemed old. The hotel itself was weird, for us to get to our room (1st floor), we had to get the elevator to the 2nd floor, then cross this stage to get down to 1st floor by an external ladder. I don't recommend it.

If you want to pay extra for everything necessary like airco €10pd, as a loner a better then a nunscell under the hotroof normal size room €90 pw, a better breakfast at the fantastic Bambar downtown €10 pd etc this is an okay hotel. So count €230 pw extra.. If you want to meet really nice guests who suffer the same misery, this is the right place. If you want to have a magnificent view from the terras late at night till you fall asleep Elios is a good place. I enjoy Taormina every year but the cheap hotels are hell. I choose Elios to be close to the filmfestival palace of congres and the view. If possible I'll be staying in Timeo the hotel of my dreams one day!

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in August 2012. The hotel's location is very practical being a short walking distance from Taormina's bus terminus, an even shorter walking distance from one of the main bus stops (tombe bizantine) and a popular pickup point for coach excursions. It is also very close to the City Centre's Corso Umberto yet located in the quieter Via Bagnoli Croci, away from the unbelievable crowd that flows through till the early hours of the morning. Despite what some reviewers have said, the staff at the hotel were always very courteous, helpful and flexible not only during our stay but even before that when we contacted them by telephone a number of times prior to our stay. The staff is not large so a pleasant rapport is developed in a short time and…

Stayed in a room with a view of the ocean and mount Etna. I think it was well worth the extra money, as it is what makes this hotel special. The location is good, the city park is close and you can easily walk to the bus station or down the path to Isola Bella beaches. The old town is also easily reached. Took me about five minutes to get to the old town. The staff at reception where great, the staff who took care of breakfast could learn a bit more English and at least smile once in a while. The breakfast could also need a bit more variety, as the same menu was served five days in a row when I visited. The nice part about breakfast was that you got to order special coffey at no extra cost (americano, caffe latte, chocholate etc) Wifi worked well in the reception. Light…

Elios is a nice and some how cheap hotel. The people there are really friendly (they are from Germany) and they did help us a lot. The hotel is nice and considering that it is a 2 star hotel, is perfect. It is really close to the center of Taormina. We booked a room for a friend of ours, 2 weeks before going there, and Elios was one of the cheapest and available hotel at that period. I recommend Elios, for people that have a low-budget vacation plan, backpackers, young ages etc.

We stayed in Elios Hotel for 3 nights in. It turned to be a very bad experience. The standard room that we had booked had no windows. Automatically we preferred to pay 25 euros extra to have a sea view room from where Mt.Etan could be seen. The room was big enough and clean enough. The breakfast was served by a gloomy lady in a room without windows (again), slightly lit up with candle like lamps. The ambiance was depressing. The breakfast itself was just one croissant per person, no bread, no ham, no cheese, no fruits, no yoghurt. The coffee was undrinkable. We complained to the reception and we refused to have any more breakfasts like the first one. The staff of the hotel did not care about that. We were very disappointed with their reaction and felt neglected. In order to…

Clean comfortable room in a very good-value hotel on the edge of Taormina centre with stunning views both from the room (with its postage stamp one chair balcony!) & the rooftop terrace. Staff very friendly with parking right outside by asking in advance - expensive but then Taormina is not designed for cars & all the street parking is for residents only, strictly enforced & the paid public car parks are a good hike away & not cheap either. Breakfast was pretty ordinary in a dingy room but thats not really that important when you're just a short walk away from Taormina & its Greek Theatre! If you're lucky with the weather you get a fantasic view of Mt Etna, & even if its shrouded in cloud the view down the coast is stunning! On one of the traffic streets round the edge of town…

The room is beautifully clean and well kept, the staff is very friendly, but many of them do not speak english. The breakfast is not great and there is no wifi in the room, but great value for the price!

We stayed in hotel Elios for 2 nights. Location is very good – on the relatively quiet little street, yet only short distance to the center; 2 minutes walk to beautiful botanic garden. The room is good size, it’s clean, has TV and air conditioner. Great view from the room balcony and the roof terrace, where they serve breakfast if the weather permits. Hotel provides regular continental breakfast. Parking was a slight problem. Hotel does not have its own parking, therefore they are sharing (renting /borrowing) the space from another place. It’s really next to the hotel, but you should leave you car key with hotel employee, so they could move your car as needed to let other cars in and out. The street is really narrow for such maneuvers; however hotel employees did a very good…
