Always on the lookout for unusual hotels, I came across Casa Cuseni on numerous booking sites and travel forums. It was built at the turn of the 20th century by an Englishman called Robert Kitson, after he'd fallen in love with Taormina whilst on 'the grand tour' of Europe. After his death, his niece Daphne Phelps turned it into a...

Dear guest, thanks a lot your your amazing words, you totally understood what makes our Casa Cuseni so special! Daphne Phelps' book is a masterpiece, and gives a better idea of the House and its history, I am really glad you had appreciated that. Looking forward to your next visit! All the best, Clelia

The location is on the main road leading up from Taormina to Castelmola. It is a narrow road as others in Sicily so try call them as soon as you are nearing and they will open the garage or receive you and take the car away. The property itself lived up to all the tributes that have been paid to...

Casa Cuseni is not only a great B&B but it is the official museum of Taormina complete with signed art from such notables as Picasso. We had a Jr. Suite with a million dollar (euro) view of the Tyrrhenian Sea and Mt. Etna. Our furnishings looked like something you had to stand behind a cord to view. The staff was...

This is a national monument/museum of historical significance. The 'operators' of this place are sweet and truly care for those who visit this place. The place has a huge garden and I personally feel they can do a better job. The views are stunning and you will never get tired. The staff are sweet as candy and take pains to...

While we did not stay at this B&B we did take the tour of this fabulous gem. The tour took us all through the house with a very informative guide. A lovely house that is a bit hard to find but worth the effort to climb the streets to experience. While there are a lot of steps it is worth...

Agree with everyone - amazing place, very hospitable, comfortable, fascinating, good location. Beautiful gardens. Great views. Very helpful staff. Agree asking them to show you around is well worth it. Easy walk to centre of town.

We had booked two nights at Casa Cuseni but then we arrived during the thunderstorm of the century... roads were washed out, cars were submerged, trees were down, etc. They guided us in, got our car into their garage, and then took care of us for the next couple of nights... we ended up staying another night because of the...

There are so many reviews online about the marvelous story of Casa Cuseni that I will not repeat them in this review. For those who would like to know about the house's history before visiting, do read "A House in Sicily" by Daphne Phelps, who inherited the property and turned it into a pensione. The book is funny, charming and...

This is a very old mansion, with very nice paintings on the wall (private collection), old style furniture, statues in the garden, magnificent view of Mount Etna and Taormina. The owners organise 1h30 visits around the property to see the artwork and learn about the history of the house. Unfortunatly, we were climbing the Etna and not able to attend....

Dear Lae, thanks for your kind review! You are totally right, the house is a bit fragile for families with kids, especially because of the antiques we have in the living room in the museum area. I am really glad you have enjoyed your stay and I hope you will come back in future to visit us! All the best,...

I was introduced to this magical place by someone in my book club, and memories of a very special three day stay are being kept alive by the book, A House in Sicily, written by Daphne Phelps who cared for this historic property for over 50 years. On our arrival we (my husband & I) were warmly greeted and were...
