location view is top. prices are exagerated compared to what you get. water problems in the bathrooms - elevatores are scary - out of order every time - even when you are blocked in. staff is scared to loose the job - when you complain there is no soloution - just an open ear. no fair value...
Lovely spot, beaches in Italy are a premium for space, and this hotel is very accommodating. The building is quite tired but not a deterrent for great service and views. Shout out to Grazia in the restaurant, who makes the best Caffe Freddo at breakfast.
This hotel is amazing, the previous review on here says everything, friendly staff & great breakfast. Close to trains, buses & the town centre. Two observations: (A) the pool & beach close at 7pm sharp..there is therefore no beach or pool access after this time, should you come back from a hot day exploring (B) the only place to book excursions is with the hotel lifeguard or car park office. They were friendly & helpful… We had a great time, would recommend
Just got back from this hotel and would love to return one day. Check in was quick and we were in our room in 5 minutes. The staff at the front desk were always friendly, polite and efficient. The room itself had a lovely big bed and incredible views of the sea from the balcony. We were given free water for the first day and after that you had to provide your own or use the minibar, we stocked it with our own beers/drinks. Only downside was the shower which was in the bath and not easy to use. Every day at about 5 new pool towels are delivered to the room and the room was cleaned and fresh towels delivered daily. The beach area is lovely, but stony so you need waterproof shoes. It is in shade from about 1pm so people tend to go to the pool area after that. Sun beds weren't a problem during the week but the place got busy at the weekend. Should also mention the staff at the two pool bars, they were always friendly and happy to serve. The gym was quite good, with one room for weight machines and the other for cardio, including 3 treadmills. At regular intervals the hotel provides a free coach to Taormina, where there are many restaurants and shops. These busses fill up so get in early. Breakfast was great with a lot of choice and incredible views of Mount Etna. You can also walk to the beach resort of Isolobella just up the road. All in all a great holiday…
We had the most fantastic stay at the Hotel. Our room was impeccably clean and the beds were very comfortable. The Beach, Pool and Sea Swimming area in the rocks as well as the views from all around the hotel were exceptional. The staff are friendly and helpful. We looked forward to breakfast every morning and especially loved the Granita! We felt welcome, safe and this might be the first holiday I've had where I want to return to the same place next year!
Friendly and family oriented hotel. Amazing views of the mediterranean. The property is a bit outdated, but amenities like private beach and pool are wonderful. Would stay here again and bring my kids.
We travelled here to kick off our honeymoon and we had the loveliest time. From the reception desk to the pool and beach attendants - everyone was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was sometime we looked forward to every morning, looking over the Mediterranean and towards Mt. Etna. We enjoyed the hot and cold offerings, and they had some non-dairy milk options if you ask for it. We loved being on the coast and right on the sea. The pool was spectacular. The lunch and dinner menus at the hotel did not really appeal to us, but the dining room looked beautiful. We took the shuttle every evening to Taormina and once tried to take the local bus back, and ended up having to walk a long way. Book the shuttle early because they book up! It would be nice if there were more frequent shuttle service. Taormina is not walking distance. The hotel should also really offer a shuttle option to/from Catania airport because one-way the taxi trip costs 160-170 Euro (depending on if its earlier or later than a certain made-up time) and that is really too much. These two things would elevate Unahotel in our minds.…
The only way to describe our stay at UNA Hotel Capotaormina was outstanding. The front desk staff at checkin were efficient, friendly and had us in our 3 rooms in no time our bags were there when we got to the room, everything about the property was explained and very clear, breakfast, complimentary shuttle up to Taormina. Housekeeping again were faultless the rooms were clean and linen / towels changed without prompting, staff very friendly and respectful and services provided was exceptional. Breakfast was sensational Sicilian produce was outstanding, choice & quality was there and all dishes were replenished e when finished, from freshly squeezed juices, ricotta cannoli to beautiful sweet ripened tomatoes everything you would expect from a property like this. Beach & pool was breathtaking and staff made sure the area was clean & the staff made sure you didn’t miss out on pool chairs by people reserving them for hours to the point that the towels would be removed. The property from our experience was nothing short of outstanding we travelled with elderly parents and our two children and I will always make sure it will be our go to place in Sicily as it caters for all age groups . Thank you for an amazing experience, until next time.…
Great hotel. Good location - with a shuttle up to Taormina. Lovely pool, staff are lovely and friendly. Rooms and hotel are all clean and all the facilities you need. Bed is comfy, loads of space. Excellent view and lovely balcony. Breakfast has a huge range of choices. Particular mention to Gracia at breakfast who got our coffee and tea straight to us every morning with a huge smile and welcome - she is a definite asset to the hotel and Antonio by the pool who helped us with a boat trip. Overall a good value nice hotel. Downsides and reasons why I didn’t score as excellent. The decor is overall a little dated - although they had new chair, sofas and tables delivered to the breakfast area on the day we left which looked fab! Rooms are dated decor and furniture. Annoying you have to push the flush on the loo about 10 times before it flushes - should have mentioned it I guess and very difficult to operate the tap thing to empty the bath - you need dry hands and perseverance! The boat trip just around the next couple of bays was organised by Antonio - he was very helpful and friendly - but the boat captain was very late, did not speak hardly any English, had loud music on the go (which we asked to be turned off), smoked 3 cigarettes and was either on his phone or chatting to his mates as he drove passed other boats! He offered us a swim - but it was directly opposite the private beach of a large hotel - and we felt we should not be swimming there! It was 100 euros for 1 hour!! Total rip off - would suggest you don’t use him again, completely NOT Antonio’s fault!…
We stayed at this hotel just under a week at the end of May 2022. The hotel was very good, perfect location and kept very clean although like other comments I would agree that the decor could be updated. Although our room was very large and had a spectacular view. Breakfast was also very good with a large selection of pastries, fruit, hot food. The beach was perfect in a small cove, not too busy and very good for snorkelling if you can, it was a bit cold for us in May! My only other comment would be that we had to check out at 3:30am due to an early morning flight and the reception were a little grumpy and said that we couldn't check out because it was too early but it was sorted eventually, would recommend checking out the day before if you are leaving early morning.
