The Bel Soggiorno is a lovely old hotel that makes you feel as if you have been transformed back to the 1950s... it is in a quiet location just outside of the main town of Taormina - you have to climb several steps and walk along a road/through a beautiful park to get to and from the town - I...

This hotel has a beautiful location and incredible views. We cannot fault it for this. The room was quite basic but it had all the basics that you could need and I noticed that a few people complained before about the hard beds but this didn't bother us at all. I prefer a hard mattress! We had new towels every...

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Bel Soggiorno and had an absolutely wonderful time. Our room was clean, bright and simply furnished with air conditioning at no extra cost. The hotel staff can't do enough for you and nothing is too much trouble. They even phoned out for pizzas for us so we could watch England...

We have just come back from a truly wonderful week at the Bel Soggiorno in Taormina. We chose the hotel partly because of prior reviews that we'd read and also its affordability. Everything and everywhere in Taormina is expensive (we were told it is the most expensive area of Sicily!), but this hotel seemed the best for the price. The...

We chose this hotel after hearing such great reviews about the views and also because it was one of the few more 'affordable' places in Taormina. Nowhere in Taormina is cheap but this was at the better end of the scale for our budget. The views are fantastic, out over the sea and nearby bay with great views of etna...

The location of this hotel is breathtaking! When we arrived, we drove up a long winding road and found the hotel perched on top. There was free onsite parking, which was great. The gentlemen at reception checked as in and showed us around the building. It is very beautiful with a big living room for the guests, with a piano,...

We had a beautiful view of the water with a second floor room with terrace. Ask for the corner room and you can see Etna too. A terracotta terrace with flowering cacti made it the perfect area to relax with friends and a little Nero d'Avalo wine. The owner Carlo was accommodating but Luigi was the best. Pick a night...

I have just returned from a weeks stay at the Bel Soggiorno, the hotel has a beautiful setting and is family run. The views from the hotel look out over Mount Etna from one side and the sea. My room had a lovely shared terrace that looked out over the sea, the room was cleaned everyday with fresh bed linen...

the reason for our stay at the bel soggiorno was to attend our daughters wedding. this is no boutique hotel, family run by mother and son. the rooms were very basic, the shower was a squeeze, but that said, the rooms were cleaned every day, bed sheets changed during our one week stay and clean towels every day. we had...

This is probably the best all-round three star hotel I have been to. Sure the showers are terrible, the beds were hard, the television was a tiny relic of the eighties. Sure, it's not in the centre of town and the breakfast is mediocre (the juice was weak squash but the boiled eggs were nice and fresh). But this is...
