We spent a very pleasant 3 days at B & B Opera in June 2012. Our room, at the rear of the property, was spacious and spotlessly clean. The room comprised a kitchen and sitting area on the first level and a mezzanine sleeping area containing a large, comfortable double bed. Breakfast, taken on the verandah, was plentiful with more...

The worst bed we have ever had, broken backs after a painful night. It's a disgrace they let guests sleep on it, even more when staff admitted the next day they are aware of the bad bed. The night was sleepless anyway, because of the noise: from the busy street under the window, the noise from the adjacent stairs and...

We stayed at a big room at the back which has a split level and a small kitchen. The size of the room was great but it's not being cleaned properly as there is dust everywhere. Breakfast is very simple but on the second day we could make special requests (e.g. cheese or eggs) which they then would buy for...

Costantino and his staff are wonderful. They were very friendly, helpful and charming. They treated our 7 year old son like a nephew. Location is great. Very close to the Duomo and market. Walking distance to most places in the city. Accomodations are good. Decent rooms. The two rooms we stayed in had plenty of space. Breakfast and coffee are...

Like other reviewers we went to this place as our (out of date) Lonely Planet recommended it. It has indeed changed owners so don't go there expecting a warm welcome and homemade food on the table. This place was not as bad as some people are making out but if we'd have had more time (we arrived in Catania very...

We thought this was a top B&B but the nice lady has gone and now there only in it for the money. You can see that it had been great a couple of years ago but now.... Pay in advance... Only the floor is cleaned... dust everywhere else... Things that breakdown dont get fixed (lights, tiles, cupboards..) Breakfast is minimal...

this was the only truly unpleasant B & B we stayed at. My husband was afraid we'd perish during the night from the sewer gases that permeated our room. the window opened onto a narrow, well traveled street that was full of noise and exhaust. and not cheap. would not recommend to anyone.

a miserable place, noisy, smelly, unclean and a truely horrible breakfast: packaged food, plastic abounds, very tight space, and the worst caffelatte. Regettable!

We stayed at one of the apartments just across the road from the B&B. We have been travelling for 9 months, and the apartment is our favourite accommodation to date. To be honest, we can't even look at the photos of the apartment, because it reminds us what we are missing out on now (we're still on the road). It...

We stayed here during the volcanic ash no-flights period and the staff could not have been kinder. We had our washing done for us and got use of a kitchen and a laptop, and they arranged a tour and taxis. Very good central location too, close to the station and fish market.
