We arrived late in the evening and - in darkness - the hotel is almost impossible to find. Make sure you look for the large bronze (?) plaque - it is the only reasonably visible identifier you will find. Parking was adventurous. We were recommended to park, admittedly nearby, in a spot where parking was not allowed. I guess the police is very forgiving. We would leave the next morning anyway as we had a longer drive ahead. The room, on the first floor, was horrible. Yes, it had an impressively high ceiling with decorations. But a plain ugly bathroom had been crudely stuck inside that - in itself interesting - volume. We had trouble finding sockets to charge our phones, but even worse were the loose, old tiles in the middle of the room (we had to sleep in separate beds btw) - Everything was topped however by the bathroom, with absence of a shower curtain. The shower was of 1950s quality so the complete bathroom was flooded after every shower we took. The toilet seat was completely loose; a warning sign would be appropriate! Tired as we were, all this was somehow forgiveable. We would only stay a single night after all. Were it not that breakfast was rather cheap and minimal; a limited choice of mostly sweet things. This discovery was only slightly offset by the breakfast terrace itself, with views at the park (albeit not the best part). In all fairness, hotel location was good for a stroll downtown. But we weren't to stay very long. Which would help us forget this first disappointing impression of Sicilian hospitality. Fortunately, after this things would only get better!

Well located hotel, on the main tourist street of Catania, next to the bus stop to Catania Centrale or Piazza Borselino. I slept in a huge apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a room with a kitchenette, TV, telephone and a sofa bed. Air conditioning, wi-fi. well equipped bathroom and very comfortable beds. Very friendly and kind staff, well spoken english. Hotel has the best choice of breakfasts from all facilities visited in Sicily during the pandemic, with the option of having a meal on the outside patio. Definitely recommendable and I am sure I will come here again.

This hotel fascinates you from the very moment you’re trying to find it on the Via Etnea street. It then continues as you follow the turns and corners of the inner hall. Reception operates 24x7 and the staff is super welcoming, helpful and friendly. Room is spacious with very high ceiling. Bathroom is big and clean. A small balcony to the inner yard is a nice addition. Oh yeah, breakfast has all you need, and a terrace just doesn’t want to let you go. But Catania awaits. Gotta run! 🙂

I stayed here for several days after a couple of weeks hiking around southern Italy, the Aeolian Islands, and Sicily. It was very conveniently located close to the historical UNESCO world heritage old city, the room was comfortable, and the staff was very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again, I definitely recommend.

Couldn’t have been better. Great food, great people, great location. I will be going back soon and hope to stay again. We always spend time reading as much as possible about a country and it’s people, thier history and culture. Sicily is such a complex island that having some knowledge of the whys, and when’s, and who’s, and hows, made the trip so much more meaningful.

I stayed here for 3 nights and found the hotel room very comfortable and spacious. The rooms are very typical of Italy set in an old historic hotel. The hotel is on the main road (via Etna) and next to Bellini Gardens. The hotel itself is on the first floor. You need to buzz the intercom from the main road for the reception person to let you into a foyer which then leads you to stairs to go up to the hotel. it is very secure. There are lots of restaurants and shops near by and the hotel is not far to walk to the main square. There is also an excellent market close by. I loved the outdoor patio at the back of the hotel where the breakfast area is set up. The breakfast itself was great and plenty. The staff are very friendly. This hotel was definitely good value and close to everything. I would stay here again.

Well located hotel within easy (direct) walking distance to the central plaza, cathedral and famous elephant statue. Lots of shopping and places to eat in the area. The hotel is an older property with lots of stairs but the staff kept it very clean. The wifi worked well. Best feature besides the helpful staff was the hotel patio where you can enjoy your breakfast looking into to the adjoining park.

We had an enjoyable one night say at the beginning of our Sicily holiday. The hotel is in the main street close to Bellini Gardens and the airport bus stops close to the hotel. It is unusual because it does not have a frontage and you need to intercom to gain access through to the hotel. It is a quirky hotel without a lift. The bedroom was very comfortable with a lovely balcony overlooking Via Etna. However, the traffic noise is excessive and a back room may improve sleep quality. Breakfast was good with a nice outdoor area overlooking some gardens. The gentleman on reception was brilliant and could not have been more helpful. Good value. Highly Recommended for a short stay.

The hotel is very central accessible to all the main shops, the market and restaurants, the rooms are very clean with air condition, fridge and wifi and the breakfast is very good with a good variety of food. the staff are very helpful and friendly. The only drawback is that the lift is not accessible to the first floor where there is the reception and breakfast room but overall it is a very good hotel and good value for money.
