Everything was more than wonderful until the departure day, but unfortunately the issues with parking and the reply on our feedback on Booking.com killed all the positive regards of our stay there. The receptionist forgot to tell us that parking is only available until 11:30, even though he checked us in the previous night and asked what time we'll be returning for the bags that we stored. Once we sat to lunch at 12:00 we received a call from him that that we have 20 minutes time to get back to the hostel and take our car elsewhere or we are obligated to pay for an extra day. Which we refused, because we were half an hour walk from the hotel and weren’t too kind to leave the table. When we returned to the hotel at 14:00 the receptionist admitted us twice that it was his error not to inform us about the parking, which he latter denied on Booking.com, and we were forced to pay for his mistake. If only we knew to move the car we would have done it before heading to explore the city. Obviously we weren’t happy paying 10 euros for 2 hours parking. We weren’t either too pleased to see the snooty reply of the manager on Booking.com after leaving our feedback that he refers to whims... One thing we can surely agree with the manager, this kind of attitude creates problems.…
Very nice place!! Very clean, the staff was excellent, nothing was too much for them! There were always there expecting you with a smile, ready to answer to all of your questions!! Great team!! We will come back again!!
Amazing place to stay, right in the heart of Catania, Sicily. Wonderful historic building right in the middle of the city with great architecture all around. All restaurants, cafes and places of interest were right on the doorstep.
Sort of "Hotel Garni" in the very center of the city with vintage appearance, i.e. high stucco decorated rooms with nice balcony. Very clean, friendly staff. Pretty noisy due to street traffic - earplugs! Skip 3€ breakfast voucher (1 coffee+1 croissant across the street) for nicer café around. All in all a good choice for short-time-stay in Catania. We liked it !
Nice room with beautiful ceiling like tapestry and pretty balcony. Good emotions be there. Very frendly staff. There was no refrigerator in the room, but the staff kindly organised some small one. Thank you! :)
Right in the old town centre, just meters from the Duomo.Big spacious room with high ceiling but rather small bathroom.Had a balcony facing the main road where you can sit.Noisy flushing & hot water geyser.Sometimes it takes ages for water to heat.English speaking staff. Free tea at reception.Don't be put off by the main entrance becoz the bedrooms are comfortable. There's even a lift!Recommended becoz of its central location.
Beautiful location, wonderful service. the staff were super friendly and helpful. perfect location in the center of Catania. value for money ! great place for young couples or group of friends. thank you !
This accommodation was in a superb central location in the heart of Catania. We booked two rooms for one night only while we went to Etnaland and Mt Etna. The staff were great, friendly and helpful. The rooms were dated but the building would be classed as a 'listed building' in the UK so maybe they have a similar system on modernisation? Saying that, we had air con, comfy beds and our own bathrooms along with a lovely terrace view on to the lively street. I would recommend this hotel but it is not luxurious more of a historic/ cultural setting which is not a bad thing. Book parking in advance and breakfast was served in the room, very nice and fresh too.
The hotel (B&B) is located in the very centre, but the quality of rooms is very poor. the staff is extremely helpful but they need to invest more in maintenance. do not trust the add that your room has a balcony as balcony looks into the yard od 2 m2 which is very noisy as all apartments look into it, and the noise is unbelievable! the rooms are dark and gloomy. there is no parking. rooms also lost the charm of an old apartment building. the price does not correspond the offer.
An old and central hotel, just in the city's shopping centre. With two very busy roads with lots of traffic. The place was clean and the staff were very helpful. Unfortunately, the traffic noise keeps on going through the night.Without double glazing and old wooden apertures that don't close perfectly ,you just can't keep the noise out. Otherwise, I have no complaints .
