Very authentic and you get the feel of the place as a whole. Lots of original features such as shutters, balconies, high ceilings to name a few. Very clean, comfortable rooms with good air conditioning and toiletries supplied. Friendly staff, free wifi basic continental breakfast. Quiet location for a good nights sleep at the rear overlooking courtyard. Superbly placed for... More

The hotel is centrally located and is close to shopping and the train/bus terminal. The famous landmark like Duomo is within short walking distance. The only drawback is the size of the elevator being too small. It can hold barely two people with 2 mid sized luggage and 1 carry on. The staff are very helpful and polite which is... More

If you're a smoker and a funky cigarette order greets you in the room, you will like this place. I really hated imposing on the desk clerk watching football because it was obvious that I was bothering him. The hotel needs a lot of care..One night was enough.. If you can..A must-miss...

Got stuck in Catania due to Malta ferry cancellation and ended up here. Entrance appearance seedy, but room was spotless and comfortable. Had tv, air conditioning, and antique ambiance. Staff very nice, gave me accurate information on duration and prices of cab to airport, and called me a cab early in the morning. Around the corner from Etna Street, which... More

Being the first visit to Catania we were not sure what to really expect . Being a real place not all "touristed up " the fact the accomodation started up on the first floor was not extra surprising but didn't do justice the the quality of the accomodation itself. The hotel is good, roomy, clean and hints of grand. The breakfast was... More

Stayed for one night in September, hotel is in side street but looks out via balcony onto main Catania street which is full of life! Situated on a first floor and above, there is a lift for easy use and main gate on side street locked at night for security. The room was lovely, spacious and spotlessly clean with en-suite.... Hotel Gresi is a perfectly adequate three star hotel. Certainly nothing fancy, an okay value for the money. The room was small, dark, and a bit musty, but seemed reasonably clean. The bed was uncomfortable but the location was good- just off via Etna which is the main drag in Catania.

+ well located in a side street off Via Etna, wifi worked very well plus AC - poor breakfast, what was most strange was to be woken up when I had the 'do not disturb' sign by a young man on reception who kept shouting at me for having disturbed the maid. There must have been some misunderstanding as 30 mts... Wasn't too sure when we arrived as taxi took us down a back street and the hotel is beside a huge market which had just closed and litter etc was everywhere. Hotel is on first floor of an old building. However it is just off Via Etnea and very central. Bus to airport was 1 euro when going home. Ceiling paintings... More
