Clean room with air con, desk, wardrobe. Modern (newly refurbished) clean bathroom. Clean linen and towels. Very central, close to sights, restaurants and shopping. Easy to get to the train station and airport via public transport. The building has beautiful ceiling frescos throughout and features antique furniture. Breakfast was included in my stay with croissant, rusk, tea. The staff/owners were really lovely and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
i really appreciate the strategic position central near via Etnea and a big market, lots of good restaurants on the corner via gemellaro, comfortable rooms, breackfast included with real good capucino, quiet and clean room , excellent value for your money!!!!!!! frigo provided, really kind staff
Old fashioned hotel in the heart of Aetna str .Bus stop next to it and easily accessible.Poor continental breakfast with no variety of food.Very clean rooms with small bathroom and some towels should be replaced as they were worn out.Its location is perfect as the main sights are next to you.Mr Salvatore is very kind.
My friend and I spent a week at Hotel Gresi and loved it. Perfect location- market one side and Via Etna (Main Street) the other with lots of shops/restaurants and takes you to the old town in Catania. We had a lovely, large room with a high ceiling, en-suite bathroom, tv, walk in wardrobe with safe, fridge, a/c and balcony
Old old old hotel Overall dirty, smelly and loud Very noisy Beds, sheets and co haven’t been updated for 100 years Shower and toilet barely functioning Avoid. Didn’t try the breakfast or WiFi, just left as soon as possible in the morning
good central location near many restaurants - however you need to maximize your smile-training when meeting the evening / night concierge. We felt that any need to attend to guest is seen as unwelcome interruption of whatever screen he was watching behing the counter. It took 3 days until our smiles were responded by a more friendly face. Breakfast had been sufficient and the morning staff was friendly.
From the rudeness and lack of knowledge of the staff, to the nonfunctioning refrigerator and safe in the room, to the broken down shower and tired, scratchy bedding and towels, it would seem you could do much better for your money in Catania. Location is ok. Elevator is nice to have. Air con in the rooms (but not the public spaces) works. But the older male at reception was clueless about the hotel wifi, as well as anything other than very basic info about Catania, the younger male was utterly contemptuous, and the older woman was sweet, but unintelligible. Avoid.
It is a very central hotel. On one of the side streets of Via Etnea, 10 minutes away from Bellini Gardens and 2 minutes away from Sicily’s popular market. Very clean. Good air condition and wi fi. Reasonable prices. Very good coffee shops and good restaurants in the area. Highly recommended.
Before doing the reservation, I asked if there was wi-fi. The guy at the reception said yes. I asked if it worked in the rooms and he said yes again. It did not work in the rooms. I had to come to the reception to be able to work. The bed was a bit disappointing, it was way too small.
I stayed in this hotel on my 1st night in Catania as part of my tour. The hotel room is very old. I felt like staying in a very old place with a dim lighting. If I had a choice, I would not stay in this type of hotel. Hotel location is okay.
