There is no proper entrance to this hotel at street level so we were a bit disconcerted when we arrived in the dark. The instruction not to flush toilet paper shocked my fellow travellers but I had come across this before. In fact this hotel grew on all of us. It's clean, basic, very Italian, interesting old building with friendly staff. I'd say good value if that's what you want. No luxuries (although there is air con).
We should have know that the relatively low cost of this Hotel would be a sign of how bad the room was. First of all, it was very stuffy in the room, needed to turn on the air conditioner (it was 78 degrees out) and the manager told us it was not hot enough out to turn in on. Ok, so we opened the window in the room; BUT there is a very large sign on the closet door that they have a VERY BAD MOSQUITO PROBLEM there and to keep the window closed at all times. We did open the window for about 20 minutes and got bitten repeatedly. The bathroom shower did not drain well and although I am 165 lb man, pretty lean, I could barely fit in the tiny shower. The towels were like paper towels, super thin. No shampoo or soap or anything. We arrived about 2 hours before the time we said we would be there and the man who greeted us was very rude and seemed put off that we were early.. too bad. the manager we finally met was very nice, but that's the only positive about this place…
At 7am, on the morning we were due to fly to Catania and stay for a night at Hotel Entea. We got a phone call from them telling us they could no longer accommodate us. We originally booked back in 2019 and Covid prevented two years of travel. We confirmed this booking in October 2021. The attitude seemed to be that we should be grateful they had let us know. They were not apologetic and they did not offer to find us an alternative. Thank goodness for Booking.com.
How I will explain about Hotel ETNEA, this is an unique hotel along with well situated area. I along with my family stayed in this hotel for three nights. I can explain we actually passed quality time along with good environment, good meals and good services from the stuffs of the hotel. Rooms are large and quite. Marco is a well mannered and friendly person.
We had a great stay at this small and cozy hotel. It's placed at the busy Via Etnea close to stores, restaurants and not too far to the bus main station. The rooms are big and everything was working. The service is great and the staff really kind and always eager to help and give you some good advice. Breakfast is typically Italian with sweet bakeries. All in all a perfect stay and totally recommendable!
The staff it was very friendly and helpful. The room it was extremely clear and confortable. The place is situated on location, near to the center and everything you need pubs, shops, restaurants.Just very warmly recommend if you want to feel like spoiled for choice 😊
Highly recommended. The hotel staff make you feel very welcome. The hotel itself is very clean, nice and comfortable. It is in very polpular and central area, Etnea street. Marco is also a great tour leader, friendly and makes the day and tour an unforgettable experience. In the future shall be visiting again for sure. Charmaine and Mateo from Malta.
I spent 5 days in “Hotel Etnea 316” , I found a nice atmosphere, great staff and tidy and clean room. Strategic position in the city centre of Catania. There is also the possibility to arrange tours and excursions in the best places of Sicily! It was a pleasure to enjoy my holiday in this hotel, see you soon guys!
We were left outside waiting for almost an Hour at 1:30AM on a Saturday-Sunday .. We kept ringing the Door Bell, Calling the telephone, writing emails and messages on Booking and no one answering. Most of our stuff was kept inside the room. It was cold, we were really exhausted and worrying that we had no place to sleep. At 2:22AM finally they picked up the phone. No proper form of apology was ever given. Additional Note: Breakfast was very poor. The bathroom was very small and not enough room to have a proper shower.
