The rooms were pleasant and comfortable.
Breakfast choices were a little unadventurous and the hot buffet items were lukewarm most days.
We stayed for four days in a standard twin room.
The pool area is nice although a little small for a proper swim.
We liked the hotel in general and would stay again.
The room was modern and incredibly well kitted out in terms of amenities (we even had pillow spray!). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The parking was free (as we didn’t need to use the garage).
Whilst the hotel is out of the centre, they have shuttle buses to take you in at no charge.
I would happily stay here again (especially if I ever have to go to the exhibition centre, which is the area the hotel is located in).
The hotel is a 15min taxi drive out of the city but this was a cheaper option during the festival than paying too prices in the city
Modern well equipped rooms . Swimming pool closed , though this didn’t impact on us as we weren’t in the hotel during the day
Courtesy bus shuttle available at selected times to go into the city or to the train station which was useful for going into the festival in the evening though it’s only a 7 seater so booking is essential
Breakfast was average . A buffet service but not a great selection compared to a recent stay at a Hilton
Staff friendly and helpful , meeting all our needs for our shirt stay
Our room was medium in size. The small fridge sometimes "clicked" strongly during the night. A large and modern bathroom had a shower with no bath (no big thing), and there was also a bidet. Note the door to the bathroom is semi-transparent.
Breakfast downstairs was good. There was a buffet and there was a menu of extra things that could be ordered. I must say it wasn't clear what was included in the price and what required extra payment.
The major issue is that it is isolated from the city and if you stay here you must factor is getting to and from the city centre. By taxi this is around 15 Euro each way.
The hotel runs a small shuttle bus that can seat 7 and gets filled up quickly. Timings are not good and I think they could make this a major selling point if they provided round trip transport for this attending the opera.
Still 30 Euro a day for taxis still means it’s cheaper than city centre rooms on opera nights.
Major disappointment was the pool remains closed. This has something to do with Covid rather than maintenance but they need to be honest about it.
Our room was spacious, and remained cool with air con. Kept clean and stocked with toiletries and hot beverages daily.
Though out of the centre travel was easy by several bus routes within a five min walk to either the centre or train station. The latter enabled easy visits to Venice and Lake Garda. We also made use of the free shuttle bus.
A slight disappointment was the pool and sky garden were closed but hopefully these will be reopened shortly.
Thank you to all the staff, would thoroughly recommend.
The hotel is located in a business park type area, but is located only a short drive from the main piazza near the arena (less than 10 mins)
On check in we were greeted by a lovely lady, we had just missed the last shuttle into the town for the morning, and she offered to have the shuttle driver drive us down then before the driver headed off for his midday break. We kindly declined as we wanted to freshen up after our flight but it was so welcomed! We took a taxi about an hour later and it was about 12euro.
The hotel itself is very quirky, kind of art deco. It was spotless.
Breakfast was simple, but effective, and had everything you needed!
The shuttle was easy to book, it goes into Verona 6 times a day, 3 in the morning and 3 in the evening, and same returning to the hotel. There is only 7 seats however, so I understand how it could be more difficult to book in busy season, but we were alone on the bus most times in April. The shuttle driver that was working when we were there was a true gentleman. He didn't speak English, but he always greeted up with a smile. Please pass on our thanks!
The only criticism I have is the heat i the room. There is no AC.
I know Italy has regulations against AC, so this isnt the hotels fault, however you should have fans available for guests. We are from Ireland, and the 25degree temperatures outside was very hot for us. Our room was reading 30+ every day on the thermostat, and the only resolution we got was "open the window". It is not sufficient. My partner felt very ill one evening from the heat in the room. We had to constantly have ice water in the room to help, so keep this in mind if you are not from a hot climate. I would not be visiting in high summer months!
We made the grave mistake of eating at the restaurant. Seriously the worst meal I have ever received. The eggplant parmesan was ice cold — a ball of uncooked cheese in the middle of a plate. When I asked if it was meant to be a cold dish they said they would heat it up. They gave me back burned cheese in a sea of red sauce with some floating bits of eggplant. The pork tenderloin, was in an edible piece of fatty pork neck, also cold, with raw potatoes. Because of our status with IHG the upgraded us to a club room. Joke was on us — there is no
Club! Avoid it like the plague!
