I have only positive things to say about this place. Nice people. nice rooms . decent breakfast. no fuss and mess. I had issues with two things. 1. finding the place. we were a part of a cruise , so we came one day before our stay and found the place. 2. if u have big baggage u have to...

We couldn't believe our luck in booking at Zaguri B&B. Given the stories you hear of not being able to find places in the labyrinth of canals and alley we were so close to main stops on the Grand Canal for the transfer water bus, walkable to St Marks and beyond and always easy enough to find our way back....

There is no better place to stay in Venice. The warm welcome we got from Mario and his team was just perfect start for a perfect weekend in one of the most amazing cities. Quiet, clean, comfortable, 3 key words for the Zaguri. Spacious room, great breakfast, excellent location, great value for money, and friendly helpful staff. I don't usually bother...

The Zaguri Bed & Breakfast was a real gem! This was our first stay in Italy. The breakfast was decent (brie, croissants, yogurt, cappuccino, boiled eggs, cereal, juice, etc). Our room was lovely, looked out on to a canal, and it was quite large! The location is fabulous and about a 5 minute walk to St. Mark's Square. The staff...

Loved our stay at Zaguri B&B. Room was very clean and it was so central. It's within walking distance to St. Mark's Square. If you'd like to take the water taxi, the water taxi terminal is even closer to the hotel. Continental breakfast is in the small lobby area but the Capuccino was in a large cup and oh so...

The price is reasonable. The accommodations are large, clean and comfortable. The breakfast has a lot of variety and is very good. The staff are friendly and helpful. They will provide you with a map of the area and a schedule for the Alilaguna public transport that will take you to and from the airport. The Vaporetto can get you...

We recently stayed four nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is ideal for easy walking to all of Venice's many attractions. It's a short walk to the Piazza San Marco, yet quiet. The staff was helpful, particularly Manon, who found us a laundromat and gave us very detailed assistance with finding some other landmarks, as well as assisting...

We loved the Zaguri. The rooms were clean and they had the most television channels in the whole trip. The breakfast was OK but don't expect an American breakfast as they do not make hot food here. The location was great as it was so close to St. Marks square.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
