While most apartments extend an initial warm welcome, this was not the case at this establishment. Instead we received a long lecture concerning things which were not allowed and actions for which we would be fined - for example, failure to stack all crockery into the dishwasher prior to departure would incur a 30 euro penalty. Once the lecture concluded...

We stayed as a family for 2 nights in December. The location is great - 3 min walk from Rialto water bus station, and next to many restaurants and supermarkets. The apartment itself is thoughtfully renovated with all modern amenities, and consumables that are replenished daily for a sumptous breakfast. Rooms on the ground floor offer amazing canal views with...

This is a wonderful aparthotel tucked a few turns behind the Rialto Bridge, a 3 minute walk to the Grand Canal and the vaporetto water buses. The outside is rather unassuming, and you could miss it if you're not paying attention! Inside the hotel is a lovely apartment (maybe 8 or 9 total), that is generously sized. We had a...

Me and my wife stayed in this Hotel for 3 nights in September. Great place. I can sign my name under every good review. Overall - it's a great, quiet place in the heart of Venice, just 5 min walking distance from Rialto. Stuff is very helpful and friendly. Our special hanks to Eleonora, very nice young woman, who answered...

Wonderful multilingual reception staff who checked us in early after a short wait. Big, clean and comfortable flat with fully-equipped kitchen should you want to do self-catering.Our girls found the sofa bed in the living-room to be just as good as a ‘real’ bed. There’s a washer-dryer if you need to do laundry, and even soap powder was provided too. on quiet square and very close to St. Mark's and Rialto. Apartment is sufficiently equipped. We stayed in 1 BR and though good, you can see it is not brand new. Owner is very nice and helped out when AC was not working properly. Great location, but apartment needs updating ( I do have high standards)

This is a perfect location for a Venice trip. It's about a 5 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge, right in the heart of things, but far enough away from the crushing crowds to make it a quiet retreat. The apartment we rented was a 2 bedroom, 2 bath with a living room & kitchen. It was perfect for our...

My family and I loved staying at this place. The location is excellent. It was a bit difficult to find, however the directions from the front desk staff helped a lot. We had booked a spacious flat on the second floor with two large bedrooms. The had separate bathrooms. Kitchen was fully equipped and a little breakfast was also included with bread, ham, salami, yoghurt, milk and juice in the refrigerator. Biscuits and a coffee/tea as well. Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
