I`ve just returned from Venice, when I spent one night in Acca hotel. I had a chance, I didn`t image, that room would so spacious (#9), the bad is true *King-size* and very comfortable to sleep ( like you are on a deep, soft cloud - it is the first thing I need after a long day full of events... The Acca Hotel in Venice was a good find. Friendly staff, quiet hotel, comfortable and clean room. The location was perfect as it's right off of a large Campo (so it was easy to find by following the city's signs). The price was very reasonable for the area. Talk to the owner about paying cash for a discounted rate. The... More

Location was fabulous, away from the crowds and on a family oriented piazza. Room was ok, shower flooded the bathroom. At check out the owner claimed credit card machine was not working and would only take cash. He refused to take the card numbers down the old fashioned way. He did give a discount for cash but the last minute... More

We stayed in this hotel and although our friend's room was fine, ours was horrible. The bathroom stunk so bad you could hardly go into it, the carpet had so much dirt and hair on it that I was afraid to walk on it. One of the hand towels had gum stuck to it from a previous guest and instead... More

Will not be an effort to answer to this review, because a good reader doesn0t give much weight to a person who speaks ill of all, without distinction. Also, I don't understand how is possible to find a gum on a towel, putted by the PREVIOUS CUSTOMER. Could happen that a towel has been washed badly but it's a very rare... More

This is a small hotel just behind Campo San Polo, from there you can visit Venice quite easily. The staff is nice although not particularly experienced, rooms are small but decent. Breakfast has a limited choice but it is ok. There is a nice outside (small) aera to be used on Summer. Internet works. I think it is a good... More

My wife and I spent four nights at this small (9-room), family-run hotel close to the Campo San Polo and had a great time. The room was large (ca. 400 sq feet) with a comfortable, large bed, a sofa, coffee table and desk. We were on the top (1st) floor with no other room adjoining, so it was super quiet.... More

The hotel is just off the Campo San Polo. Really hidden away from the crowds. Its entry is quite unusual and very charming. A hidden garden in a sea of stone surroundings. Daniel the manager is quietly spoken and was a big help in providing useful information and guiding our stay. We stayed for three nights and would have loved... More

The lovely location, adorable garden entrance, and affable staff made our stay at Hotel Acca ideal. We felt at home immediately and really enjoyed the welcoming feeling that we had from start to finish of our stay. In the morning we enjoyed breakfast with a freshly made dopio espresso. It is rare to find a place that feels so warm... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
