Everything about this B&B was very good: location, WiFi, comfort, service. The room safe and bar fridge stocked with well-priced water, beer, pop and wine were a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was adequate, maybe a little late start for some at 8:30, although I was welcomed to an earlier start on departure day. Only flaw was a mini shower with slow...

This classy place is indeed a place to go. Very quiet. Room is cosy, bathroom great! . Breakfast is well presented in a very nice room. 5 Mins walking distance to Academia, and 15 mins to San Marco . CONS .No elevator , you have to negotiate high stairs. Difficult to find, use your GPS not the city map. Once...

This small B&B was perfect for a 3 night break. Basic rooms and bathrooms, but a brilliant location - everything within walking distance and moments away from great bars and restaurants. The gentleman who owned the hotel was so friendly, provided us with maps and information and allowed us to leave our cases on the day we checked out, a...

OK so this is a budget B&B - so you are not going to get the Ritz - especially in somewhere as expensive as Venice. That said I spent a perfect 4 days there travelling with my sister. We reached Ca Centopietre by following the You Tube directions from Academia Bridge. (Take the no. 1 or 2 waterbus from Piazza...

Nice small hotel conveniently located close to Accademia stop. rooms are cozy and clean with private bathrooms. There is a nice breakfast served each morning included in the price. Carlo the manager is sooooo nice. He really takes care of the guest. I have stayed there a few times and he has treated us as family. Although I could afford...

My husband and I stayed here for the first two nights of our honeymoon. We found it easily by following the directions provided. Our room was very spacious and bright, though the walls are thin (and I am a light sleeper!). I turned on the white noise app on my phone and no trouble after that. We absolutely loved the...

This hotel is a little hard to find. If you didn't know it was there (which we didn't) you would miss it. Carlo, the owner heard us walking by with our luggage and came out to find us because we had walked past the hotel. He helped us carry our FOUR bags up the stairs. He was so nice and...

Great location in a quiet part of Venice, but near enough to explore the main sights on foot - 5 minutes from Accademia and 20 minutes from the main square. The hotel itself was basic - our room was large enough and satisfied our needs. The host was lovely and friendly :-)

This is a lovely guesthouse for a weekend away to Venice. It is perfectly located for many things - ferry bus from airport (5mins walk from the stop); it is close to the Academia bridge for a San Marco walk; very little noise and off the tourist tracks; not far from the Rialto bridge; and some nice bars and restaurants...

I've taken my Dad to this hotel for for years running and every time we have been made to feel welcome, given excellent advice and felt very reluctant to leave!! Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
