This hotel is a great location, less than 10 minutes walk from San Marco Square and close to waterbus stops. The rooms look exactly like the professional pictures here. The beds are comfy, could do with bigger/more pillows though. Only real downside is the breakfast, don't bother with it!

Our second trip to Venice and this hotel did not disappoint. You just can't argue with that lagoon view. We were there for Carnevale and could watch the exquisitely costumed participants arriving on the vaporetti in the morning. Breakfast is basic but served with gusto by a lovely lady. Location wise it's perfect and you get the same view as...

We arrived at the hotel early afternoon, which is a little tricky to locate the first time, however thanks to google maps we had no real problems. Upon entering, the decadent entrance and reception area hinted at things to come. The man on reception was polite and friendly, and kindly shown us to our rooms which happened to be one...

My boyfriend and I stayed here in August and had a fantastic stay, the hotel was only a couple of minutes away from St Marc's square, this turned out to be the ideal location for exploring all that Venice has. The hotel staff were all very friendly, we were recommended a boat tour by the receptionist and we were not...

We booked this hotel because of the other reviews on tripadvisor-- and we're glad we did. We're on a honeymoon tour of Europe looking for moderately priced hotels that are walking distance to sites of interest, relatively well appointed for the price point, and known for good costumer service. This hotel delivered on all three criteria. The room was moderately...

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights at the end of February. Having spent 3.full days exploring Venice, this hotel really is central to everything. It's easy to find on arrival, the directions are straight forward and it's only a few minutes walk from the vaporetto stop. You can walk to San Marco square in 10 minutes, or...

The Tribute to Music has a very comfortable location (only 300m from Piazza San Marco) and very clean and comfortable bathrooms, but very uncomfortable bed and pillows. The dinner recommendation they gave us was not good, far away and expensive (the following night we had a better dinner near Piazza San Marco and it wasn't as expensive).

Adequately comfortable for the paid price, considering it was for four nights. Staff were helpful, room clean, and its location is perfect. A few paces away from the Arsenale water-bus-stop. Very close to piazza San Marco. The view overlooks the lagoon makes for picturesque photos.

A small, reasonably priced hotel in an excellent location within 5/10 minutes walk of St Marks Square. We booked a lagoon view room which had beautiful views. Breakfast was basic but a good standard and ample enough to start the day. The hotel staff were pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for them. We flew to Marco Polo Airport...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
